How does a defense actually contain Jayden Daniels?

Absolutely incredible what we witnessed this year. In many years of watching the Tigers, I have never seen one player with that much individual impact on the game.
If you had Georgia’s Defense, how would you stop him?
He was the ultimate dual threat QB, better passer than Mike Vick and almost as smooth of a runner.

Maybe in college, I’ll give you that. But the nfl remains to be seen.

He will have more trouble running in the pros, but will still be effective….he just better learn how to avoid taking hits.

Vick's completion % in NFL I don't think was ever much above 50.

As long as JD is healthy, he’ll probably be a force like RG3.

Yeah, he really put himself out there on some plays, especially early in the season. He can’t do that on the next level.

Jayden was approaching QB perfection. With even slightly above average supporting cast I don't know how a defense could stop him.

The NFL is different. Consider playing an UGA or Bama defense every week (and those defenses are not even NFL level). JD will have to adjust his game at the next level if he wants to survive a season. I know he can take a hit but the hits just add up a lot more quickly in the NFL. He needs to learn to take less hits at the next level. He will figure it out.

Knock him out of the game with a dirty hit. There's players and teams in the NFL that will take the fine to knock him out. He's going to have to run much more carefully.

One way is to have a linebacker shadow him the whole game. Although it will be extremely difficult to do that when the offense goes spread with 5 WR.

Not sure a college spy could keep up with him.

Yeah, he is NOT gonna be able to take the hits he did at LSU.
Facing whole teams full of Dallas Turners

Do what Alabama did. Take him out with a cheap shot and count on the conference not to do anything about it.
The NFL will at least fine and suspend any cheap shots on most QBs in the NFL. The SEC just cheered it on.

Well, when every defense he's gonna be facing on Sundays has defensive players that were all-americans in CFB, I think that may have some impact.
Jayden's fast, but these LB's and DB's he's about to be looking at are pretty fast too.
I hope for the best for him, but it's gonna be a whole new ballgame.

Agree.
But having a qb that can evade is better than having a statue.
I think his 80 yard runs are a thing of the past.
But drive-sustaining 4 yard runs that negate a 7 yard sack are worth A LOT of money.

They don't - See his stats.
If they play pass, he breaks off a 20 yard run.
If they play run, he throws a 40 yd dime.

Certainly.
But Jayden did just that, but then summed up to basically a 12th man on the field when he turned losses to gains via his legs.
That destroys a DC’s game plan when he can do that.
Today’s offensive game is lacking if you do t have a qb that can run a little. Burrow wasn’t a track star. But he made Alabama pay by getting g a first down in the waning minutes.

Play very little man coverage. When teams lined up in man he capitalized by taking shots to Malik and BTJ. He showed elite intermediate touch on the digs and crossers that was not there last year. He made huge strides throwing the ball downfield, especially in man coverage.
College defenses were not going to be able to fully contain him this year because of his improvement but in the NFL the zone defenses are more disguised and faster. That is where he is going to struggle. If he gets man hes going to have opportunities to escape the pocket and run. If an offense is smart they will be more run oriented with him until he can adjust to game. He could have similar success to RG3 and Lamar Jackson in the right system. Or he could look like Justin Fields in the wrong system.
