Some of you are forgetting how dominate he was
LSU had the #1 scoring offense and #1 total offense in the country last year. What more exactly do you think Jayden could have done? Hell, the offense only turned the ball over 8 times the entire season to boot.

You asked a question just to answer the question. What sense does that make?

He was also the quintessential 1-read (2 if feeling ambitious) and take off QB in a simpler offense with shorter routes. He also relied more on his freakish build (like Tebow). It’s not like Daniels was slow, but by the end of 2023 he was a passer first who knew exactly when to take off. He didn’t just get to Washington and in one year know how an NFL QB goes through progressions, he was well on his way in college
Cam has an argument for the better college QB given how punishing his running was, but there is no comparison in the passing game. Even if you adjust for the differences at receiver

Who started the worst thread in Tiger Rant history and why was it the OP?
Lmao. You guys are so dramatic and emotional.
Are you on the rag or something?
You can probably look 3 or 4 threads down on this board and find a stupider topic than this one. I’m not joking or exaggerating.

Why was Chizek able to hire a better DC than BK?

Auburn had an incredible defense.
This is revisionist history.
Auburn was #60 in total defense and #53 in scoring defense that year. That’s better than 2023 LSU, but it’s a very far cry from a dominant or elite defense.

Defense.
Cam produced the most impressive single season performance in the history of this conference for what he did that season with who he did it with…
I think there was only 1 other drafted or played in the NFL from that team or something like that…

quote:because Chizek was an actual defensive coach who ran the defense. I mean this is the same guy who was able to slow down Reggie bush when he was the DC at Texas and was Tubs right hand man for all those early 2000’s nasty defenses he had before Muschamp. We saw how he fell apart after he lost Malzahn & Cam.

Daniels 2023
3,812 40-4 Passing
1,134 10 TD Rushing
Newton 2010
2,854 30-7 Passing
1,473 20 Rushing
Daniels
327 passing attempts (71% of run-pass mix)
11.7 yards/pass
135 rushing attempts (29%)
8.4 yards/rush
Newton
280 passing attempts (51% of run-pass mix)
10.2 yards/pass
264 rushing attempts (49%)
5.6 yards/rush
The game’s changed a lot in 13 years so we can’t look at all stats as apples apples but it’s harder for me to make the argument Newton was the better QB than the inverse. He was more of a QB/RB hybrid that the entire offense ran through, Daniels was a QB who could punish you if he saw openings
