Don't know if shocked is the word.
The head football coach promised results on the offensive side of the ball and results have declined since that promise.
I'm certain he has the football team's best interests at heart but also am very concerned with the progress being made on that side of the ball. The offensive performance may be having a negative effect on the defense.

Or dominant like scoring a TD tongues the game in the first place?
Tied for last in defensive td's for the year...awesome!

Ok so let's say you're right and the ATM loss is on the defense. What does that prove in your mind?

Sorry but have you not watched football the last decade?
We lean on the Defense year after year after year and whenever it’s not enough we lose.
How many times have we really lost a shootout?
Maybe 2 times in the last 10 seasons?

You can argue and pretend like your reasonable all you want, I am Sure Aranda wouldn’t make an excuse because he’s a profession
But you have no problem in posting shite like we’re “last” in defensive YDs when that means we’re tied with 94 other teams.
Now ask Aranda if he though his defense won the game when they stopped A&M on 4th and 5? What do you think he’ll say?

Nothing. The offense sucks and I think the defense under performed for the season. As a fan I still want to win the 2 games I thought we should win but lost. I want our defense to be more aggressive...i don't like bend but don't break style. I think we have better athletes than to play that way. Hell I see people on here wanting a 4-3 again so why don't yall go give those people hell for questioning Dave Aranda?

I am sure he will say the game is 60 minutes long

yall keep acting like the defense scoring is the most amazing thing ever. Hell they made a great play thats awesome but as terrible as our offense was they did not put the defense in bad position field postion wise with turnovers, compared to most teams. Our defense rarely had to defend short fields...that is going to help the scoring defense

You’re saying “on the season”
But really outside 1 game our defense was amazing.
We game up 16.09 point going into the A&M game.
And that’s without an elite pass rusher all season.

What’s your point?
We expected the coaching change to lead to a better offense.
You seem to be expecting it to change the fact that you can’t win every game in defense alone.

I would say outside of 2 games...A&M being the first half and last drive and UF we made their QB look good while plenty of lesser defenses made UF look bad

Terrible thing for him to say, however, it should have never come to this. If Canada thought his offense would be better operated with Brennan, then Brennan should have played.
That's another complaint that I have. Is Burrow really better than Brennan? We will never know. I think that our QBs all looked terrible in the Spring because of the scheme. I think that Burrow brought knowledge more than anything else to the table and it also helped change the story line.
Instead of the narrative that I believe, which is that E's offense was just terrible when first implemented, a narrative that we didn't have a QB was created. From that moment, Oregeron had no choice but to start Burrow. Now, instead of the offensive scheme taking a step back under O, we have the narrative that the QB talent went up thanks to his last second acquisition of Burrow.
This competition allegedly came down to the wire. It's no secret that Brennan has the best arm on the team since Jamarcus. I'm not going to pretend to know more than the coaches, but I do believe that politics has become more prevalent in the O regime than they EVER were in his predecessors.

Right, so we seem to be in agreement.
When we're triaging the issues that this football team is dealing with, no reasonable person should be putting the state of the defense ahead of the state of the offense. The offense is hemorrhaging, yet you're saying these flesh wounds on defense are just as important.
We get this offense performing to a respectable level, some of the issues with this defense will resolve, wouldn't you agree?
I don't know how responsible the defense is for the state of the offensive side of the ball. This thread seem to be trying to make that case but it's a poor case being made.

1. Out defense gave out offense the ball in great position all season. 1/3 our TDs started on their side of the field.
2. Can you backmup your claim?
6 TDS in the A&M game came inside our 30.
And yeah none of them are thenoffenses fault but outside the A&M game the defense was elite.
