You think an increase in his salary means we should've expected an increase in performance,
no I just expected a great defense. If LSU fans don't think we have better talent defensively than where we finished ranked nationally defensively they are crazy. No way we don't have top 5 talent on defense. Hell with Aranda being the defensive genius everyone claims a top 5 talent defense should be much better than the one we saw...a guy like Aranda did far better with much less talent at Wisconsin

when we punt the ball inside the 20 with 2 minutes left the defense needs one stop to win the game If you can't admit the defense choked you're flat out wrong...tell me why we allowed them to make our defense look stupid in the first half?
You’re too fricking dumb to even see how big of a hypocrit you are.
The defense stopped them. The offense needs to close the game and can’t so the defense needs to stop them AGAIN.
How is that 1 stop and how is that the defense failing when they did their job and the offense went 3 and out.

I don't think we have top 5 talent on defense. I never thought that with this group.

The anti-Aranda agenda is the most pathetic discourse in the O regime's quiver.

“Higher standard”
We have two coordinators. One did an acceptable job for the season and one didn’t.
No one is saying the DC doesn’t have to do better, but if I am concerned bout either of the two being able to do their job or looking for someone the blame for team performance it sure isn’t going to be the DC.

What's your point anymore? It seems like you just want to argue for the sake of argument.
You're sitting here harping on a couple of bad series or a game or two as evidence that Aranda didn't earn his paycheck which is just absurd. Every DC even great ones can have a bad drive or game especially with injuries and a poor Offense.
If you're upset about the dollar amount he gets paid blame O for that. Personally, I think him paying Aranda what he did is why we got to the record we did this season. I saw the hire and pay raise as a smart self preservation move by O.
Outside of ATM, our offense was #65 in ppg (before rice we were #80) and our defense was #12 in points allowed (#13 before Rice). The only other defense that performed similar with a worse offense was moo state.

Our starters are elite,
Our backups are not.
We had no where near the depth of talent we have had.
Chaisson goes out: Thornton and Anthony combine for 1.5 sacks in the next 11 games
Fulton and Joseph go down; weee playing alexander and Netherly our there.
Fehoko goes down and we’re rotating 5 DL the whole game. We have 1 backup DE. And our DL hasn’t been that good sllmyear to begin with.

The defense was gassed at that point. All the offense needed was one first down.

If we had a guy who could pass rush the edge we are as good as we were in 2016.

pot meet kettle you dumb frick. Hell you're so stupid yuou can't even fathom that regardless of what has happened up until the last few minutes of the game the defense only needs ONE frickING STOP and we win...I am telling you that is borderline retarded logic there.

Count you dumb bitch.
How many times did A&M have the ball between us taking the lead and the end of regulation.
If it’s more than 1 and it’s a 1 score game than the defense clearly needs more than 1 fricking stop.
I would Say that’s basic math, but I am Not asking you to add 1 + 1.
That’s fricking counting.
The defense needed to not just stop A&M, but stop them again, because the offense couldn’t pick up 1 first down. Couldn’t go 10 yards.
Butnyeah it’s the defenses fault they could protect 19 points vs Florida and a 17 vs Notre Dame.
The entire game counts.
The entire game counts.
Aranda has given up 30+ points 2 times in 3 years and we’ve lost 10 games.
The offense is trash and until it’s fixed I am Not blaming the defense.

People want the blame pie to be divided equally. That's just a faulty premise though, borne from months of defending the head football coach, his choices for offensive coordinator and not being able to substantially criticize Aranda at all.
Now they reflexively seize upon any instance in which the defense faltered as evidence that he's just as culpable as the other coaches for the team's overall performance this season.
There's a lot of misplaced anger going on with these guys.

when have I said SE did a good job?
I expect more from Aranda. He had incredible defenses with far less talent at Wisconsin...right or wrong?
People forget we had great defenses under Chavis. Us being great defensively isn't since Aranda arrived here we have pretty much been great defensively since Saban. Except for a few years offense is ALWAYS what has held us back. So I don't know why any tiger fan is shocked that the offense is still the weakest unit.

You mean like getting a stop on fourth down just minutes before being asked to go out and get a SECOND last minute stop?
Or getting a 3 and out after the offense scored to tie the game for our shitty punt returner who has been crap all year to muff the punt inside our own 30.
Or dominant like scoring a TD tongues the game in the first place?
But yeah frick Aranda and the defense

O haters are the ones that said injuries don't matter
There's no such thing as "O Haters." There's no such thing as "negatigers" or "Sunshine pumpers"
There are simply those who think the program is improving and those who don't. It isn't much to ask that O be held to the same standards Les Miles was, and the only thing ticking anyone off is that he isn't.
I rooted for O big time when he was hired. I loved the innovative concept of relying on top notch coordinators and letting O do what he is good at, recruiting. Here is what has made me angry, personally:
1. The entire situation surrounding Matt Canada
* Stepping on his toes in play calling
* Not letting him get a second year with an improved line and top notch Wide Receivers coming in
* Replacing him with Steve Ensminger and not conducting a search for a new OC (call it what you want, but this is nothing short of lying to the fanbase)
2. Engaging in full fledge PR campaign instead of just WINNING
* It's joked about on here, but the head football coach at LSU literally has a person or persons that are being paid by LSU to attempt to sway public opinion about his performance instead of letting the numbers speak for themselves
* Using wins to justify no offensive improvement
* "Cupboard left bare when he got the team"
* Offensive line just isn't good enough
* Canada wasn't his hire
* Officials stole the game
* Bama is just too good and that's the way it's going to
be
* I'm not sure why, but when you have 4 or 5 people on different shows with 1045 all spewing the same talking points... you can't tell me that they aren't being directed
3. Not delivering results.
* Let's call it what it is, had LSU played McNeese in 2015, it would have been a 10 win season - all this crud about we haven't had one since 2012 is very deceiving, and Les Miles was almost fired during that year.
* Ed went 6-2 in 2016. 9-4 in 2017. 9-3 so far in 2018. His overall win percentage is 72%. He lost to two first year coaches, Jimbo Fisher and Dan Mullen, both whom had less talented rosters.
What is there to even debate? Why are we sitting here talking about preseason expectations? LSU had the 3rd most talent in 2016, 6th most in 2017 and 7th most in 2018.
There are no O haters - there are simply those who are sick of hearing excuses and feel duped by the hire. LSU will be a preseason top 10 team next year. They have an extremely favorable schedule - "O haters" simply do not think that O should get another shot after next year if he doesn't even win the west.
Gus Malzahn won the West last year. He's on the hot seat. Why? Because Auburn fans know what they want and don't have people calling them "Mulzahn" haters. What's going to happen? The offense is going to suck again next year, and THEN O is going to replace E to try and buy himself more time? Another year and another season that we all have to sit here and hear excuses instead of finally winning the West.
