Why the hell would an ump calling balls and strike need to be wearing shades?

To be fair to the umpires (and I know that's not really allowed here)

After watching the highlight in the other thread... both the HP umpire & 3B umpire took a knee right on the foul line to watch and make the fair/foul call since it was going to be close down the line

It's got to be deflating not only to Ole MS but to the rest of the league to see us literally, today beat up... multiple starters out and our 3rd string catcher comes in a sends a 3 run homer. Very telling about the dudes we have top to btm all across the board.

They were assessing whether they could call it foul either way.

I’ll do that when they stop blatantly sucking. The next time I see a thrown ball 4 not called a strike on a 3-0 count may be my first. It was obvious to everyone, even the most ardent ump supporters. Jones got thrown 5 balls in a row and had to check with ump to make sure the 5th was actually called a ball.

Looks like Billie Joe MacAllister who jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge. So he’d likely be from Neshoba County backwoods. Lol

That’s one positive of having challenge reviews. Those umps couldn’t screw us and call a foul ball on the dinger because review would have shown them up. They can still pull their frickery with the strike zone but I’m hopeful technology takes that away eventually.

It was close if you figure about 30 feet includes close.

He looks like he modeled his whole persona off of James Roday in the Dukes of Hazzard movie.

Homeplate ump's name was Whitmore Chadwick Bottomsworth III.

He sells pre-built homes in Batesville, MS.
