We are loaded at WR and the skill positions. I think Nussmeier is a top 5 QB.

I think our defense will be decent, but our O line is a huge question mark, and is why I expect us to struggle in week 1. I think we'll have lots of false starts and issues in overall protection.

LOL. I don’t mind the trash talk. Goodness knows Clemson has a lot of trash talkers as well. I just wanted to see an LSUs fans honest perspective of the game. There are a few comments on this post that actually answered my questions which I appreciate.

To the trash talkers on here. You do you. I prefer for my favorite team to do the talking Saturday night than to get into a bunch of needless fights on another teams msg board.

It’s gonna be a great game. May the best Tiger win!

I’m thinking the game comes down to if the LSU oline can hold up.

While it is a “new” oline, it isn’t too young. Center was a 2 year starter at VT. RG was a 2 year starter at Northwestern. Tackles will be fresh starters. LT is junior that was top 150 recruit, did start the bowl game. RT is a sophomore that was a top 100 recruit. LG is only real question between 3 guys, 2 of which have started games.

Of course Nuss is a top QB in the country and the skilled guys are typical fast LSU guys. WR is ridiculously deep. Also have a 6’ 7” TE that is an athletic freak and could be a matchup nightmare in the redzone.

The defense is what I’m extremely interested to see. It should without a doubt be our best defense since 2019.

The dline is extremely deep and above average talented. 2 deep with guys that could be starters at all 4 positions. Probably our best overall dline since the Les Miles days. I’m keeping an eye on Jack Pyburn in the game.

Linebackers are really good. Whit Weeks is first team preseason all American. Perkins is preseason 2nd team all American. Perkins is interesting as he hasn’t lived up to the hype since his freshman year, but they moved him back to his same position as freshman year. West Weeks should start at mlb, he isn’t the best player on the team but is a 5th year guy that’s really big and strong.

Our CBs are 3rd and 4th year guys who have both played a ton. Not the most talented LSU has had but should be good enough. 2 transfer safeties should make LSU much improved. Watch for AJ Haulcy, 4th year player with 250+ career tackles and 7 career interceptions.

Overall LSU is a really talented and experienced team, a lot of guys that have been around 3,4,5 years and played a lot of ball. There won’t be any freshman starting and only 1 or 2 that may get in the game.Shouldn’t be going to Clemson wide eyed at all.

Our WR are too fast for your boys. Quick routes and depth. Gonna neutralize your DLine.

Sorry but yall might as well not play this game.

We have the best talent since our 2019 season. Kelly has done an amazing job with the portal. I think this years defense will be back to what’s expected from an LSU defense. Offense may be very difficult to stop. A few breaks and this could be a special year.

TLDR.

Most rational fans expect LSU to lose. I'll actually not be bothered by a loss, because this team is talented enough to lose week 1, and still go 10-2

Before I read any further

quote:

I see this game as an expected QB showcase

Tell me what college game you saw an offense come out showcasing.

Everyone knows defense is always ahead. These QBs are gonna have so many bad reads and over/under throws.

It’s gonna be on defense. Busted plays. Bad reads and busted coverage.

this is one of those evenly matched classic that the winner will most likely be the team that scores the most.

PeacefulClemsonFan...........Many LSU fans on here are uneducated, have limited intelligence and have difficulty reading.

They AINT reading all that!

All those words would explode their alcohol saturated brains. (And I'm sure many have already started drinking and drugging, because that's the only way they can function before, during and after an LSU football game)

Nobody will read that Clemson manifesto.

Keep it to a couple sentences, nobody cares what Clemson fans have to say about the game.

Neither team was great on defense last year. We had 0 running game last year with NFL lineman. We honestly don't know what to expect from our Offensive line. The talent is there but this will be the first game where they play together. Clemsons defensive line is stout. Our defensive line is much improved and our defensive backfield is revamped. We were so bad last year we can only be better. The game will be won or lost depending if our QB has time to throw. But yours better not pack a lunch.

"We got a Heisman trophy favorite in Cade Klubnik"

Odds to win Heisman

Garrett Nussmeier ÷950

Cade Klubnik +950

There is some sort of push to put Kubik ahead of Nuss.

Of all the shite they can spread they choose this.

It really is. I've seen Clemson and LSU both picked to win the game and both picked to win the natty.

Vegas has LSU win total at 8.5 but then they're essentially a pick'em on a neutral field against a team they have basically the same odds to win a national title against.

The only thing worse than pundits speaking about this game in confidence about are the people who believe it or even worse than that, get flustered about it.

TL;DR version - whoever has the most points at the end of the game got win.
