Due to the insane buyout (thanks Woodward) I believe BK is back next year but with an entirely new offensive staff and we'll have to go hard in the portal again to try to field a competitive team. I think that is much more likely than firing BK even though it's warranted.

I don't think it's an issue of the money being there in think it's an issue of choice. They can ride Kelly out for a few more years even if he sucks and we go 8-4 9-3 on average they are still gonna make tons of revenue get decent classes and keep the program on mediocrity cruise control until they can finally let go. Similar to what happened with Les miles only Kelly sucks and never will win a NC here

He is 100% correct. They're going to give Kelly time to replace some staff, hit the portal, etc. They're going to give him every possible opportunity to succeed before biting the bullet on the buyout.

It’s insanely stupid to fire Kelly from a financial standpoint. It could set us back years financially.
That said, he has to go.
If he sticks around, the support is going to wane. Fan support will continue to dry up.

Different era though.
Coaching used to be one of our heaviest investments so getting the money together wasn’t as big of an issue.

How much money does lsu lose in revenue next year if they keep the clown?
Lower ticket sales, merchandising, game day revenues. Not to mention bk is terrible for the lsu brand and the cloud of negativity surrounding him.
Also nil support has to be worse as well. He was already given what he needed and screwed it all up.
