His last 5 SEC games: A&M: 17 pts, 7 reb, 6 ast, 5 stl UK: 18 pts, 6 reb, 1 ast, 1 stl LSU: 15 pts, 15 reb, 1 blk, 1 stl State: 19 pts, 6 reb, 3 ast, 1 stl UK: 23 pts, 4 reb, 2 ast, 2 stl Yes we are supposed to be excited. He’s a veteran leader with a ton of SEC experience and from Baton Rouge. He would be a huge piece to making this team respectable.
My only question is, why isnt he going pro?

He’s not gonna get drafted
Come home, make some NIL cash, take some grad courses and then try and carve out a pro career

Would be a good addition regardless, but pretty much a need with where basketball is right now.

Sounds like the dude is intelligent enough with his vandy degree and BB skills to get on staff

I echo that sentiment that it’s tough times for McMahon when there’s such delight as a player goes from Vanderbilt to LSU.
But if other potential transfers can follow Wright’s lead, then it’s a good thing.

As if Vandy has never had a player that was good enough to play at LSU. This ain't football. He would be a great pick up for this team. Very physical which is what we need.

trading a Vandy degree for an LSU degree? he may not be very smart
True. Partying in Nashville is a different level than Baton Rouge.

Selfishly, he would be a nice pick up for LSU. But it would also be a bit of a reflection how bad college sports have become. He's played significant minutes at Vanderbilt for 3 seasons. He would likely do so again next year. YET (even though BR is home) he would be leaving his school, teammates and coaches to come to what right now is a WORSE program. You're seeing some guys right now bailing on NCAA Tournament teams.
That's why the narrative of "McMahon is hamstrung in recruiting because guys don't want to go to a place that may be ineligible for postseason play" is a complete farce. Players want to go where (1) they can bank NIL money and/or (2) a place they feel will benefit them more individually, even if it may decrease their opportunity for team success. Reaching the NCAAT is well down the priority list.

Exactly. If McMahon is hamstrung in recruiting its because LSU can't or won't create strong enough NIL opportunities.
ETA. Wright would be a big pickup for this team. Still need to go after a true PG.

How much have you put up for NIL?

Wish Jalen a cook had never left. He’s proven to be a very competent point guard who can also score.

Would love to have him.
Tigers need all the help we can get at this point.

I've pulled my financial support of the basketball program after the way last year was handled. Until TAF and the university make a commitment to this program, I'm not putting my money behind it.
Paying a mid-major coach one of the lowest salaries in the league after firing Wade is not showing a commitment to the program.

So $0. That’s all you had to say.
Complain about lack of NIL money, but don’t contribute.

Why would I at this point? The school has made it clear basketball will not be a priority.

Aren’t you always complaining about ticket costs?
