Was hoping he could be successful. 11-1 non conference record, should have beaten Kansas St to be 12-0, beat Arky, nearly went on the road and upset UK.
Sitting great even at 12-2 and much like the Pelicans after 12/31/22 the wheels just came off the track. Not sure what happened.

I would love McMahon to be the guy but at this point I have a tough time seeing a path to success for him. Barring a miracle in the portal, next years team will be just as bad. How do you convince blue chips to come aboard after two years among the worst in program history?

But go ahead and enjoy your 2-16 conference seasons. Those are so much fun.

I will be curious as to what players Wade is able to bring in from the portal in year 1. Johnny Jones built some really good teams at Texas Southern by bringing in P5 transfer (this year was not one of those teams, they just got hot in the conference tournament).
I could see him targeting guys like Mwani and Ree, especially if McNeese is willing to put some NIL money.

Didn’t realize Mwani had entered the portal. Probably wouldn’t be wise for Wade to start targeting players not in the portal, given the microscope the NCAA will have him under.
