Hear me out on this pitching rotation idea

Could we hold Skenes and see how the game starts?If we are up then keep him in your back pocket to shut them down if it comes to it and pray our bats catch up? Leave him with the ability to start Saturday.

Who else are you gonna pitch? Everyone is on low rest. You're probably only getting 4 innings max from Hurd and Guidry combined. You cant use Money, Little, Collins, and Dutton in an elimination game. No one else is available

My approach is:
1-2 skenes
3 from Hurd
1-2 from Guidry
1-2 from Cooper
Otherwise…

are we expecting a full outing from Skenes? Not a bad idea if he can only go 50-60 pitches or something on short rest.

You try to keep as much the same as possible. By starting him, his warmup and approach to the game are exactly the same as a normal start, it’s just in a few days less rest. Only things you do differently is have him on a pitch count and pay very close attention to his control.

I would love it to work, but it doesn’t work unless you can get multiple innings out of Money and/or Little.

Get to the finals and figure it out from there. Skenes gives you the best odds to get to championship series.
