I feel like this never goes like we think it will. Freshman has extraordinary year. Everyone expects they will build on it. Teams scheme against that particular player, injuries, big head keep them from meeting future expectations.

Tyrann Mathieu scored the first TD of the season returning that fumble against Oregon

If Harold Perkins is Honey Badger 2.0 in terms of Freshman flash to Sophomore dominance, then we are in for another treat this football season.

Mathews was the exception. How many more had lackluster sophomore/ Jr years? Teams are going to specifically scheme against him. That’s a given. Look at what happened with Stingley. His production was nowhere near what he was expected to do after a stellar freshman season. And Lol at the downvotes. It takes a moron to go against history and logic. Plenty of that on this board, apparently.

If he isn't having them now, Jordan Travis will have Perkins nightmares Sunday night!

I have a bad feeling we're going to try to make him an off ball LB and this exact scenario will happen and he's in no man's land for his final year.

Gosh if only Brian Kelly and Matt House knew as much football as SlowFlowPro, maybe we’d be able to get Perkins to his full potential fricking joke

Yeah, him. His stats after his freshman year were nowhere close. I’m talking about actual playing stats. But you already knew that. Lol

Our sophomores kill it. It’s the junior season that’s been a letdown

Travis is the most overrated player in football and Perkins will prove that

That’s because mostly they’re a sophomore by the time they start. Regardless, I’m just talking about the realistic possibility of a second year slump. It’s a real possibility.
