Myles Brennan: 60.3
Max Johnson: 58.7
TJ Finley: 57.1
Now consider competition, and LSU roster status for each when they played

They need to go to the coach that Burrow and Tom Brady went to.
I thought they went to Tom House, baseball pitching guru.

Why is he THE guy? It should be who is the best and Max showed he was the better QB against TOUGHER competition.. It should never be, well Brennan has waited his turn blah blah blah.. tough luck, work your arse off and show you are better.

but Myles turned it over multiple times
Myles two interceptions in that game both came in the last two and a half minutes of the games when he had to just throw it to the end zone and hope for the best. The last one was basically a Hail Mary.
He didn’t play great that game, but turnovers weren’t the issue.

His first int was in the third quarter with State leading by 3.

I think the thing people are forgetting, is that LSU is going to have a new offense next year. So whatever we seen this past season might not have an effect on the decision next season. That being said I like all 3 quarterbacks. Myles is the better passer, Max is the most polished, and TJ has the highest ceiling.

That's why I said it's a wash.
Brennan: Miss State, Vandy, Mizzou
MJ: Florida, Ole Miss
Finley: South Carolina, Auburn, Alabama, Arkansas, A&M.
Brennan played with the most talent around him, MJ had had the easier pass defenses against but a depleted roster, Finley had the toughest schedule.
Accuracy based on completion percentage is basically a wash after considering the factors.

Max has this!
If there is a spring game, it will be the most anticipated QB battle at LSU in decades.

The starting QB’s position in 2021 to lose is Brennan’s and I don’t think it is as close as people would expect.
In Brennan’s 3 games he averaged just shy of 400yds per game! And he did that when the LSU defense couldn’t get off the field against those offensive jaugernaughts MSU, Vandy & Mizzou. Myles earned the position he will be the #1 going into spring.
But what Max Johnson’s play has done is solidified a #2 that is so capable we can open up the playbook without fear of having to protect the starter at all costs. Like having no 5 wideout sets to keep protection in the backfield so the QB isn’t hit.
We now know if our starter gets hurt we have a backup that can step in and we don’t miss a beat.
Now Max will push Myles but I will take bets with anyone, that Brennan starts next year and how long he starts for after that will be determined by his success or lack thereof.

If TJ goes to A&M I guarantee you LSU will not win the west . Jimbo will get him right . Jimbo will have another Winston but TJ is more talented as a freshman.
TJ is a classic drop back passer with a cannon don’t say I did not warn you . .

Myles may never play again. He is not a fan of contact.

I guess that’s why he lowered his shoulder into a linebacker on the sideline

You are probably right. Has Myles graduated? Because if he is on the “Burrow plan”, IE really only playing football, then that is a huge advantage.
If the team develops a bit of an edge when Max is out there...then there is your starter.
Let’s just hope that the coaches make the right choice. Coaches will really have to be in touch with the pulse of the tam. Intangibles may very well be the deciding factor.

Anyone who believes Finley, Brennan and Johnson are all staying is lying to themself. Just quit.

I agree with you. He has the intangibles. It’s just hard for me to turn the reigns over in a heavy passing offense to someone who throws a bad deep.
I don’t get how people think he has the intangibles. I mean yeah the kid was confident but it wasn’t “blow my mind” confident. And like you said, his deep ball is ugly.
He runs and has slightly more confidence. I suspect Brennan gets better in that department this year.

a cannon is way down on the list of attributes to great QB play. Finley has zero mobility, no touch, and locks on to one receiver. that can be improved as he gets more experience with the right coach, but if he does improve, my best guess is that it is not going to be at LSU. He will be 4th string and in transfer portal after spring game.

They were talking about Myles, Max and TJ.
Hester mentioned that they also had a DUDE coming in as a 4th. Meaning Nuss.

The fact that Max can run from the pocket and literally opens up an entire facet of your offensive scheme for you....It's gonna be hard to pass up unless Myles is just hands and feet better at throwing and running the offense. Because that's about all Myles has right now over Max, his arm is top notch. But he needs more than a pro level arm to keep Max off the field.
