Herman inherited a program that lost to Kansas the season before his arrival. That is an actual rebuild, not like the one DP and Ed have convinced you of that we're on now. So no the jobs they inherited are not a good comparison.

then you need to point to Ga, the best win of any college team this year belongs to the LSU Tigers and Orgeron.

I don't know about that. The Perdue win over Ohio St was pretty good.

No, he isn't. But what Orgeron is doing at LSU compared to Herman at UT or Fisher at TAMU or Fleck at Minnesota, etc, etc, doesn't mean anything.

The comparisons aren't equal. Herman and Orgeron are in the same year at their respective schools, but didn't take over programs at a similar level. Fisher is in his first year at a program that is not at the same level as LSU.

LSU over Georgia is the best win in college football? What about Alabama dominating LSU on the road. What about Old Dominion over Va Tech.

Would Herman have had more success than O to date?

Possibly but not certain. I don’t think he can recruit with O

And Willie Taggart at FSU inherited a team of 5* players and has completely shite the bed.

Like it or not, O has done a good job. You can bitch about the offense rankings, but overall, he’s held things together pretty well.

We will find that out next year.

That FSU team struggled to make a bowl game last year.

A&M was picked to finish ahead of LSU this season at SEC Media Days. The Aggies had a top 20 class for every enrolled class at the time of Fisher's hire, so they weren't devoid of talent. They are currently 6-4.

My point is that talent isn’t the end-all metric for a head coach’s success.

And Jimbo was the coach of that team last year as well.

Hannagriff said you’d never know LSU had won Saturday, or was a top ten ranked team, based on the number of negative callers post game.

Because most people are breaking their backs to move the goalposts.

Look, I think O has more than gained respect for this year, and I will gladly give him next year. BUT, he promised us a fixed offense. This is the most broken, busted, garbage caliber offense I have ever seen at LSU. It doesn't take a genius to realize that we aren't reaching our goals as a program with an offense as terrible as this one.

O either takes huge strides to fix it for next year, or if we see the same old steaming pile of shite offense again, I'll be off the O bandwagon and both he and Alleva can go.

Herman had the #3 class last year and currently #7 this year. Coach O had the #15 last year and currently #9. Seems like he is doing just fine to me.

they also seem to ignore Smart at UGA when making these apples to oranges comparisons. Cue "and ED BEAT SMART THOUGH!!"

Small sample size but based on rankings (247 rankings used):

2017 - LSU 7, UT 25 (Orgeron had a few months head start on recruiting).
2018 - LSU 15, UT 3
2019 (to date) - LSU 9, UT 7.

He'll either improve the offense or find his arse on the street.

No matter what definition you want to use, Orgeron is in year 3 next season. LSU has been a top-5 recruiting program for the past decade. This isn't a rebuild, it's a reload.

Orgeron took over a physical team that played elite defense every year. All LSU needed was an effective passing attack to take the next step.

Instead, they've gone backwards offensively. It's inexcusable.

Well they didn’t cover so that pisses A lot of fans off. Eddie has been a covering machine in SEC play. Something like 12-4 or 13-4. You’d think that kinda showing would win him more support.

Did any of those other coaches walk in to a nationally ranked program witch had been one of the best programs in college football in the last 16 years with three national championship game appearances, 2 NCs, and numerous SEC West and SEC titles?

I have to think the guys trying to set himself up for some kind a substantial gig with LSU.

Swap Miami and Clemson with our two schedules and maybe we'd both be fighting to not play in the music city bowl next week.
