Did they see LSU’s shadow and run back in, or will it be an early spring?

They aren’t counting on it. They are downright praying for it.

And? Don’t we count on them collapsing every year?

Overall, perhaps but not certainly.

Except for one pretty important position. Qb play is going to take a huge step back even from 2108 level next year.

That Bryce baw coming in will be a stud. I still think Saban will play both QBs a third- half the season but Bryce Young will eventually be the full time Qb. I’ve seen a lot of people from all over shite on him in a way by saying he’s one of the worst #1 Qb prospects but I’ve watched him play and from everything I’ve seen the dude is legit and will be a stud.

Despite Bama not making the playoffs and losing 2 games, don’t have the illusion they are on their way down. Saban is still on that sideline and they will be our biggest threat for the foreseeable future. I think we’ll be more evenly matched moving forward. As much as I despise Bama, Saban is the GOAT CFB coach. He’s a dick but I appreciate everything he did while at LSU. Hopefully he gets tired of coaching here soon and hangs it up to enjoy retirement.

You really need to recheck Joey B's stat line from '18 specifically the first eight games.

We will still be more talented than our 2018 10 win team.
that's a very interesting point. let's break that down:

2018 vs. 2020

QB: Joe Burrow vs. Myles Brennan
The obvious answer here would be to say Joe Burrow because he won the Heisman and he's the goat and blah blah blah, BUT I'm actually going to say that 2020 Myles Brennan will be better than 2018 Joe Burrow because he'll have better weapons around him and will be running a significantly better offense.

RB: Brossette & Clyde vs. Emery, TDP, Curry, & maybe Bradford
From a stict talent perspective, 2020 RBs are better.

WR: Jefferson, Chase, Sullivan, Dee Anderson, & Dillon vs. Chase, Marshall, McMath, Palmer, Boutte, & Lee
Jefferson and Chase weren't elite in 2018 and weren't in a spread system, so I'm leaning with the 2020 corps.

TE: Foster Moreau vs. Arik Gilbert
Arik Gilbert will be a serious threat in the passing game, but I doubt he'll be the blocker that Moreau was in 2018, so I'll call this a push.

OL: Charles, Brumfield, Cushenberry, Lewis, Deculus vs. Rosenthal, Kardell, Hines 57, Ingram, Deculus
2018

Offense
clearly 2020 will be better

DL: Lawrence, Alexander, Fehoko vs. Logan, Shelvin, Farrell
I lean 2018, but who knows what our DL looks like this year with Pelini taking over.

LB: Divinity, DW40, Phillips, Queen vs. Brooks, Clark, Baskerville, Anthony
2018 - really not close

DB: Greedy, Fulton, Delpit, Battle, Vincent, Stevens vs. Stingley, Vincent, Stevens, Hampton, Flott, Ward, Ricks
2018 - Delpit was possibly the best defender in college football that year, and that tandem of corners was unreal. If Flott or Ricks can be a lockdown guy opposite Stingley, then this is possibly a push.

Defense
That 2018 defensive talent was special

Overall
It's very very close, but I feel like our scheme is much better now, and it'll allow the talent to shine more for some position groups, so I'd say 2020 will look better talent-wise.

Thinking we can lose 2 next year, but the bumps are not on the list.

Most of college football is expecting a huge collapse. Best coaches left, many talented juniours left.

New DC hire does not instill fear. Pelini doesn't have the horses he did in his time at LSU. Aranda was great at minimizing weaknesses.

Everyone thinks we are going back to old LSU football with no Brady.

Anything under 10 wins is a disappointment, imo.

Funny they think Bama will be better without Tua. They are just as unproven at QB as we are

wait. they beat the Hogs, MooState (Tua injury), and W.Carolina.
Mac Jones put up 275 yds against W.Carolina
and 235 yds. against Arkansas. and beat Michigan.

Michigan is a B1G P5 monster.

I hope we can get to 11-1 and make some noise in the playoffs. Bc in 2021 will definitely be a stronger year than 2020. And 2020 won’t even be that bad

All the home and away games we had this year will be same for 2021.

2020- we get auburn and Florida and A&M away. Along with Bama at home but that’s always rough.

Know who was the GOAT before Saban? Bobby Bowden, that’s where Saban is headed. Bama is still loaded and Saban is. Good coach but teams like LSU and UGA are catching up to and surpassing their talent. With out a distinct talent advantage Saban is average. Plus his arrogant a-hole Schtick is getting stale and every year they don’t win a Natty he moves a little farther away from his prime. Saban will be a washed up old man in 5 years!

I respectfully disagree. While Saban and Bowden are similar, Saban has more championships. I also think when Saban doesn’t have that fire anymore he’ll hang it up unlike Bowden.

You have to remember Saban is the most driven coach in football. Dude loves a challenge and things like missing the CFP and losing the National championship the year befor will have him motivated times 10. I do think he’ll retire in 5 years but he’ll have Bama playing for a championship every season. I think they lose to Clemson in the NCG next season but reel off 2 straight after that and hopefully retire. I hope I’m wrong and they absolutely plummet but I don’t think they will.
