I'll be honest, those alleged claims on BK sound like him. He's definitely an a-hole at times.

Think LSU will settle with him out of court and hopefully set them up for life. They will take care of their own...it's just sad it had to be this way.

Like I said, I think it’s going to have to be a situation where there was something obviously wrong with this kid and they ignored it.

but at the same time, there is no competitive advantage to putting an safety who can’t see straight and is having seizures on the field.

and i’ll say this, this kid just had his life snatched from him. Pointing fingers, second guessing every decision up to your diagnosis and trying to figure out how you’re gonna afford wheelchairs for the rest of your life are part of the process.

Sure it does, brooks is saying the staff forced him to practice or he would lose his position. My argument is that it’s not that far fetched of an idea due to what happened in 2010, where Kelly forced a young man to film from an aerial lift in a wind storm with 40+mph gusts.

For me, maybe this accusation would work if they had world beaters behind him on the depth chart... watching what transpired with that defense, there is no way staff were threatening Brooks' starting position with the dogshit that was waiting behind him. A healthy Brooks is probably the best DB on the entire team.

That goes for every player. I don't understand why this is a point of contention.

You think a few weeks delay in diagnosis was a factor in a brain tumor that had likely been growing for years?

I have no clue how fast different types of brain tumor can develop or how fast they can get worse, so I can't really speak on that.

Medulloblastoma is likely to grow quickly and can spread to other areas of the brain and spinal cord.

The symptoms can develop gradually over some months or even years if the tumour is slow growing. Or quickly over days or weeks if the tumour is fast growing.

If I'm a betting man then this looks like a money grab. I really doubt Kelly would allow someone to practice if he knew he had problems.

Terrible situation all around but you are right. Looks like the legal team coming in after the fact and Monday morning QBing looking for a money score.

Your argument would get destroyed in a court room.

He could sue Arkansas too if tumor was present then

Plus he lost a potential lucrative nfl career so I’m sure the parents were bummed about that

Wasn’t he on g team for nil
Maybe Gordon can sue lsu

I think based off of the Saints and LSU medical team results that healthcare in Louisiana is not where it should be. I wouldn't trust the Lake to do anything and we mostly have to travel to see competent doctors and that includes BR and NO. It's really a sad statement but it is true. We do not have great medical options here.

I remember reading on here from people familiar with the type of cancer he had & flat out stating he may never walk or talk again. I seriously doubt those risks weren’t thoroughly gone over before surgery.

This is a money grab by the family who’s money is running out.

Agreed. I think there is a lot additional info need that we don't have. I think how often he was having symptoms and how severe they were will play a big role in this.

Literally could be cause and LSU could tear up that contract…hope none of it goes that far obviously, but they would have to prove negligence.

That being said I seriously doubt there was any mal-intent as described in the article. Just all so unfortunate.

I’ve personally dealt with a similar situation (through a family member) that Greg is going through with a neurosurgeon.

What our family has learned, regardless how optimistic or reassuring the physicians are, anything dealing with neuro/brain surgery, there’s a SCARY amount of guess work and chopping through the brain matter in the dark going on.

Our surgeon we handpicked had a great CV, tons of experience in the specific brain surgery we needed, highly renowned in the field, great references etc… and our family member’s outcome was very poor and greatly diminished the family member’s quality of life in the remaining days they had vs if we wouldn’t have done the surgery.

*Just from his bio, the surgeon that did Greg’s procedure seemed like he’s main focus was on spine more than brain, which is a big red flag for me.

have you ever participated in organized sports at any level?

if you miss practice, you run the risk of people passing you up and taking your spot.

that happens from PeeWee football all the way up to the NFL.
for every single reason imaginable for missing practice time.

the talent gap between you and your backup, combined with how much practice time you miss help determine how big of a risk it is to miss time.

I'm sure he was begging the begging the trainers to see a specialist...

He wanted to play through it, and coaches wanted that too. NOTHING would lead a med professional to jump to brain tumor within 2 weeks of symptoms.

It's sad, but THIS IS THE REASON HEALTHCARE IS SO DAMNED EXPENSIVE!

Well, I would hope so, considering I don’t know the facts of the brooks case.

I’m just simply saying, brooks claims do not seem that far fetched dude to Kelly’s past actions in questionable situations regarding student’s health.
