re: Gordon - "BK was fired because it was damaging the LSU Brand"

The people responsible for damaging the LSU brand are Scott Woodward, JBE and William Tate3 with any assist from Landry. Landry made a mistake in how he handled a bad situation. The DEI hires LSU made between 2020 and 2024 have hurt our brand without question.

Gordon needs to stay in his lane. Personal injury,…..
LSU kisses Gordon’s arse every chance they get since he’s paying so many athletes.

The bigger damage is that every coach in the universe is now seeing what LSU buyouts are worth.
The contract is available to the public. If a potential coach's agent didn't already know the amount, he better find a better agent.

Inform Kelly he isn't terminated. Tell him to return to work to fulfill his contract obligation and since Woodward lacked the authority to terminate him.
Then let Kelly say No.
At that point he has resigned and we don't own him anything.

Landry has done more damage to the LSU brand in the last 3 weeks than all the governors combined since Huey Long. And its not over ...

y’all keep being cheap and not honoring a contract and making things uncertain. See how much damage y’all can do to LSU football.
LSU athletics in general.
Coaches across all sports have got to be wondering what’s going to happen if things don’t work out with them as well inside the university.

So Gordon just publicly confirmed he was fired?

Because returning to winning football games will make all this current bullshite disappear in the public mind.

What Gordon said he heard in the Governor's office is included in Kelly's lawsuit.

frick Gordon McKernan. I don't care how good of a Christian people say he is and how many bikes he gives away for Christmas. He's a dirtbag.

I used to dislike Gordon pre-NIL because of the whole high auto insurance rates in Louisiana item, but G did a number on changing the majority of LSU fans minds about him by being a big NIL/donor steward for LSU. We need every single one of them in this day and age in the NIL era and huge coach salaries.

What a load of garbage.

Yea, you’re going to tell one of our biggest and most reliable donors, a LAWYER, to stay in his lane? That’s funny. First of all. Have you ever met a lawyer? They’re the smartest person in the room. Just ask them. On top of that and more importantly, he’s one of our largest and most consistent donor. Therefore he’s kind of earned a seat at the table. I don’t know what world you live in, but in THIS world, MONEY is POWER. Gordon, amongst a select few, will be in the room.

The weirder thing is this whole "You weren't technically fired" thing. According to BK's suit, Verge was in the termination meeting and Woodward said he was fired without cause. Verge would know the truth. Is Verge the kind of man that would lie to help LSU? Is that why he was moved into the role so quickly?
The better question is whether Kelly and his legal team are lying.
My suspicion is that they are. He obviously lied about being “open to settling”.
He was also obviously not technically fired, because that’s the basis of the lawsuit and what they are asking for a ruling on. If you put this all together, they told Kelly let’s not make this ugly and terminate for cause, but we need some relief on the cash and willing to waive mitigation duty to get this done quickly - the termination notice will be done after the settlement. And now Kelly is trying to use that lack of documentation to against them.
ETA - I think the cause was related to his duties, not reputation, because he was getting more and more defiant of the admin and had become toxic Kelly clearly saw this coming, there had been conversations leading to this. He had a plan to get all of his money and this is it. He never cared about LSUs reputation.
