I would take someone like Rick Stansbury before Brady. Admittedly, I have never been a John Brady fan, plus he has been out of the game for some time. Rick is a good basketball coach, he had a very good season at WKU (wins over Arkansas, West Virginia, St. Mary's and Wisconsin).
Trust me, my first goal is to keep Will Wade. But if we had to hire a short term guy, Stansbury wouldn't be bad.

It's so sad that we're happy to lose a good assistant coach because we're afraid of the very real possibility that our fricktard AD will hire him as head coach.

Yes, this is reality.

If Benford takes job that means Wade is guilty and that means you are looking at major sanctions.
No one is going to want the job without a guarantee of a long term commitment after sanctions.
Never let a positive story rain on someone's black cloud.
I'm happy, if Benford gets a good raise, here or at his next job. He has done a great job at LSU and deserves recognition/compensation.
I hope Wade stays and keeps him here.

This is news. It's not good or bad yet.

Right which means he takes everything he knows about how LSU operates to another SEC school that we have to play.

Because LSU athletic department is a total clown show. Why would you want to work for such a dysfunctional operation

Buzz made Benford a big arse offer.

He’ll offer him a 7-yr contract worth $50 billion.
He’ll have a 100% buyout clause for the entirety of the contract and regardless of who terminated.

Losing a great assistant is never good news. Benford had zero chance of ever being the LSU head coach.
Dumb take.
Dumb take.

While I agree that he should not be the HC at LSU, this isn't good news. More like people jumping off the Titanic.

If Alleva had half a brain, he'd use this situation to reinstate Wade.
Make a statement along the lines of, the school has reached an understanding that WW will be reinstated and will fully comply with all ongoing LSU and NCAA investigations upon the completion of the Dawkins trial in April. This is the best decision for our student-athletes and we look forward to working with Coach Wade to put this behind us.

More like a coach reuniting with an old boss.
This isn't a sign of anything more than that.

Or more like an assistant coach joining the staff of a HC with whom he has a long standing relationship. This move very likely would have happened even if Wade were never suspended.
There could be reasons to freak out later down the line. THIS move is not one of them.

If so, the good news is Alleva will be swept out also

The very few rational people who post here have been telling y'all this for weeks.
