If not in the playoffs, bowls games are almost meaningless.

By that logic, every bowl other than the two or three involving teams in the NC discussion throughout the history of CFB have always been meaningless.

Players skipping bowl games isn't a Playoff or BCS issue. Its a very modern trend based on the huge payoff involved with being a top draft pick.

Last year. You must be a woman. The are always bitching about things that happened in the past.

[quote]What about Southeastern this year when we had a grand total of 52 yards in an entire half?

Yeah losing to Southeastern proves your point.

He sure as frick didn't look like he had them ready for Bama unless the plan was for an arse whooping.

I can't argue with you there since LSU was the only team Bama beat last year.

You are pathologically tuned into hating Orgeron. If he turned water into wine you'd bitch claiming he encourages drinking. Grow up.

Georgia played with minimal effort vs Texas

they didn't play with minimal effort. they got pushed around by a more physical team. they struggled with Texas's size the whole game and had no consistent answers for Texas's blitz schemes.

Texas was, by far, the better team on Tuesday

Orgeron does a great job at getting the guys that are there for game time ready to play, regardless of the situation .

Wow, very well said and the right message for all programs. That may be why Bama and Clemson have become so successful.

We still do. This year we got lucky by having two pickup games following Bama, and last year 3. Arkansas, Tennessee and A&M were all abysmal and all fired their coaches.

And you are the epitome of the idiots on this board. We did get shutout by Bama. However, Ive never been more proud of our team as I was that night. Because they were ready to play, and play they did. They left it all out on that field, played with all their heart, and never quit. We were the inferior team and played our guts out. There will come a day, soon I hope, that we won’t be inferior.

NY6 bowls are still an amazing accomplishment. Theyre second only to the NCG.

no playing for a conference title or semi finals in payoffs is better than a NY6 bowl.

I agree with this. The only game that matters now is the CFP and this has been promoted by the media as such. Funny how many of them whine about the lack of importance being given to the bowl games when they have created this mess.

Sort of like March Madness has become.

Who the frick started the March Madness comparisons? That makes NO fricking sense.

Go back and look at the past decade or so- Kansas (just to name one team) has been a major contender in basketball a lot. You might say similar to Clemson making the playoffs in football.
They've been knocked out early a bunch of times.

We're not talking some random "glad we're in" team, we're talking about a legit favorite to win it all.

4 seeds can make the Final Four... provided they get past 13 in the first round.

I don't think it's a lack of motivation for the better team, it's the EXTREME motivation for the lesser team that comes into play.
That's not the same as players skipping the bowls because they're waiting on the draft (unless you're Ben Simmons...)

Sean Payton could have been the OC against the Gumps and it would not have mattered. That game was lost in the previous 2 to 3 years of O-line recruiting.

This is laughable. Keep making excuses.

The citadel had 275 yds of offense against bama.

LSU had 195.

Somewhat of a myth.

We always beat Aggy before this year.

In 2012 we won the next three and lost the bowl game.

2013 we won out.

2014 we lost to Arkansas, beat aggy, and lost the bowl.

Only 2015 was a full blown collapse.
