I don't think anyone is putting the blame on LSU Salutes, outside of a few people suggesting that LSU Bama weekend might not be the best time for what is a pretty serious and somber ceremony

Nobody is doing that. They have the area reserved years in advance. Just curious why LSU is just now meeting about this and not on Sunday when it was announced at 10am. I know its no big deal and it'll all work out in the end.

Don't know why you guys keep acting like LSU Salutes was the surprise here.

No one is blaming Salutes for anything. It was a surprise that the organizer had no idea Gameday was claiming to be on the PG 2 days after it came out.

Why did LSU not communicate with Gameday that the Parade Grounds would be unavailable due to a commitment to conduct this ceremony? As already discussed and further spelled out in the link below, the date for LSU Salutes is set once the football schedules are set (isn't that like 3 years in advance?) and the location is always on the Parade Grounds. The surprise is Gameday which was only set to be at LSU the week prior.

Everyone in this thread has said we cant comprehend why LSU has yet to do anything about it. Gameday gives the schools a few weeks notice they are considering the location. They didnt spring this to LSU on Sunday.

Game day only last until 11am. Why can't solute do their thing at noon or a little later and compromise. This is becoming way bigger if a deal then it needs to be.

Ehh I just dont think thats a good idea. You then are keeping tailgates and people out of that area until at least 2. Then you have to try and corral the drunks and keep music down. Thats gonna be extremely difficult in the middle of the day.

People forget the shear mass of space Gameday takes up. There will literally be no tailgating in the middle of the parade grounds which push people into new territory. This includes stacking everyone closer to salutes area.

Gameday just needs to move. Let salutes do their thing in peace.

By noon tailgating will be too crazy. They do it at 9 while it's still relatively quiet on the parade ground and let people set up after

LSU Salutes 7-8am

ESPN Gameday 8am-11am

Have the cannons blast as they cut live to Baton Rouge. It won't happen but it would be nice.

About 70% of the Parade Ground...they do a drill march, and have the ceremony at the base of the WW2 to present memorial.

They wont let you step foot in the roped off areas until the ceremony is over and people have cleared out.

I was here on that day and Im pretty sure I remember LSU salutes still going on the PG.

Am I the only one who doesn't see a problem with both being on the PG that day? While CGD's setup is large, it pales in comparison to the size of the PG. I remember their being set up there for the Ole Miss game in 2014. They were on one side. Tons of other stuff was going on without interference on other portions of the PG.

Well that whole North side is now taken over by the frats. Majority of them will have to move. Salutes takes over almost all of the interior of the south side and a large portion of the middle close to the flag pole. If that occurs at 9am as planned, you will essentially have ZERO tailgating on the interior portion of the PG. People are only allowed near the sidewalks and under tree-line until around 1030/11.

This is what I don't understand with this situation. Gameday was announced at 10am that its coming to Baton Rouge on the Parade Ground. Then around 3pm it was announced the Heisman House will be there at the Parade Ground as well.
