I watched the whole thing live. This is taken out of context for sure. He was explaining the differences in their situations.

This has to be by far the most obsessed the media has been with one single coach throughout an offseason and through the entirety of the conference media days. Every single day now the media won’t stop asking coaches of different teams about Kiffin. Why do they or should they give a shite about what Kiffin is doing? Goodness gracious I’ve never seen this level of obsession with a coach.

He did misrepresent who actually denied Kiffin from coaching in the playoffs. He may be just misinformed, but if you’re going to be quoted in the media, inform yourself.

This! Asking every coach about LSU and Kiffin is crazy. They don’t do this w any other coach/team.
And this was taken out of context. I think he’ll do well at FL. He’ll be better than Sun Belt Billy.

I think Jon will do well at Florida. Tulane aside no one wanted to play Troy when he was the HC as a cupcake OOC team. If you didn't show up to play you were in for a tough game.

He’s a good coach. I would have loved him at LSU if we didn’t get kiffin. He will do well at Florida

Sumrall feels like a Napier downgrade.
Napier at least sounded reasonable. Sumrall just strikes me as a try-hard. Florida fans can't feel good about this trajectory.

This is the bottom line.
Do I think he is a try hard…..yes. But just reaching the playoff at Tulane was his Super Bowl. So his comments are harmless.
Having said that, I absolutely love that Lane and the Tigers are living rent free in the heads of everyone at these media days.

A coach I know told me, he walking in the office one morning, the Head Coach said, “ I need to see you in my office, right away!” Once in the office, he said, “ I’m talking a job in the SEC, at _______, do you want to come with me?” My buddy said yes. The coach then said, get a few boxes, go in your office, close the door, get what you want, leave ASAP!, it’s fixing to get real ugly!”
