Difficult position for them to be in....they don't have the financial resources of most SEC teams. And while their fan base is passionate, it's smaller than the top tier SEC programs (OM stadium capacity is 64k).

Hopefully, if Lane is coming to LSU or UF, he announces quickly and lets them move onto one of the good coaches still available. If he were an OM alumnus, you may expect him to consider "not leaving home". But he graduated from Fresno State.

Sucks quite honestly the timing of the early signing period and transfer portal. Pretty rough on teams who are involved with a coaching search and trying to also navigate those two important times.

Lol

They can shut the frick up. No one is even entertaining firing Lane. Don't be a moron.
Its literally the best year in the history of their program, and its all because of Lane. If Lane weren't at 1 game, they would lose, period!

They are shitting themselves over the thought of losing him. He has a contract in hand making him the highest paid coach in college. All he has to do is sign.
If they pull that, he'll leave the next day

Lane is the reason for their rebirth and making their program relevant. It’s a double edged sword for them. It’s a great season for them no doubt, but the reason is their coach.

Some. Like maybe 1% of the UM internet trolls who never attended there. Any Ole Miss fans with a lick of sense would give a testicle for him to stay. Besides, what are they going to do, fire him? That would be the most Ole Miss thing ever. Probably would have to pay him severance.

If he stays, there will be many Ole Miss supporters that will never forgive him. We would be the same way. He has messed in his own bed now, and I am sure he is quite aware. Just looking at it from a human nature viewpoint, I thinks it’s a virtual certainty he is gone.

Yep they are fed up with the fact they have no control or leverage. Lane is gone. Feels to them I bet like it felt every year with Nick for us.

It was a bad and helpless feeling. If Kiffin comes i think it will be different this time for us. He’s less likely to leave IMO.

They are pre-raging, so when he finally announces that he's leaving, they can say they wanted him gone.
