It’s going to be much tougher to get those outs behind them against SEC hitters. It’s nice that he has shown to be able to work through his control issues, but he is going to have to cut the walks down a ton at LSU or his ERA is going to be a lot higher than 3.26

You are not gonna be able to walk one an inning in the SEC because that ERA will be six.

Is this the same kid everyone wanted to transfer here last year but he decided to stay at Nicholls another year?

Yes it is. He was their ace. Mayers the National Freshman Pitcher of the year in 23. I think he will do good things with a little instruction.

I think the walk numbers plus low era, shows how much run and movement his stuff has. Seems he can’t always keep it under control, but also good enough batters struggle.

Hey idiot Tiger1988,

“In coming” makes zero sense. The word is Incoming.

Neither does “He is cam Johnson posts”

Try English once in a while.

How many did he also strikeout? His BA is incredible.

I really don't get the negativity. ERA is pretty impressive considering the walks. Imagine how much better he could be if he limited the walks even a little.

Not sure why anyone would be negative about this. I think I saw someone compare him to Hurd. I would happily take another Hurd. When it mattered most Hurd's stuff played well. He was huge in winning a Championship and came up big again during the late season run.

I disagree. If you get command from him, he’s absolutely a weekend guy

Mayers struck 106 in 70 innings. It would take Cam WAY more 70 innings to reach 106 strikeouts.

Kid had the highest amount of walks in baseball. The Cam Johnson comparisons are not far off. People will celebrate anything because it’s LSU

And others will criticize anything because it’s LSU. All the while calling themselves fans.

Well yes. Maybe I should have said they’re not depending on him to be a weekend starter. He could potentially develop into one.

Cam struck out 6 in 3.2 innings of sec play. And 13 ks in 9 total innings. Id say its incredibly likely he could strikeout more than mayer in 70 innings given the same level of competition
