Baker needs someone that can help him with mobile QBs (how to stop them). Like Baker's scheme but he needs to get that aspect figured out. It’s football now.
Then that person should have the job.

He's adequate, but not great.

Offense kept defense on field too much

That and the lack of offensive production. It really wears a defense down. Look at the 1st half of the aTm game vs the second half.

Defense went steadily downhill each game. Every team has injuries, etc. No excuses please.

Thats fair. But i mean if said person can only stop mobile QBs but have shite coverage schemes we are back to square one lol

I think people have lost sight of the fact that this is on Blake’s 4th year of calling a defense. He’s still learning and will only get better.
I think one of the biggest problems for him has been that to run the defense like he wants to, it takes a ton of discipline from the front 7, and it’s hard to develop that in a short amount of time, and unfortunately, in the portal era, that discipline has to be developed by various other coaching staffs for half of your defense.

Hard to stop people when the team has given up on it's head coach. The focus and fire of the defense is gone. You were never going to shut down "elite QBs" but look at how Perkins played the last few games. No effort. No focus.

The defense has gone taffy of late. The defense seems devoid of real disrupters. Granted, they get NO help from the gelatinous offense...

The biggest thing for me is basically no 2nd half adjustments whatsoever. Like in any of our losses. He is playing coverages where guys are simply out of position and just keeps running the same shite. However, I see a lack of effort from many of the guys on team so hard to say if its Baker more than its the team quitting on Kelly.

Yes. This defense has few that I care to keep around. Need some linemen that can get after the QB.

hope for getting back to that standard at all early in the season
Injuries put an end to that unfortunately. When we had fresh bodies to keep alternating it wasn’t that bad. I don’t care how good you are the body cannot overcome fatigue. It doesn’t help when your offense can’t help you out. Other than the Southeastern game the most points scored by the offense was 25. I hope he gets to stay but I would totally understand if a new coach wants to build his own staff

Yep. And Ole Miss and TAMU have good play callers. Bring back Aranda after he's ousted at Baylor.

Bingo.
The rant’s lover boy has potential to be an upper echelon guy, but right now he’s average to slightly above average. Highest paid DC in the country to get prison raped by a D2 transfer, 5’10” New Mexico State transfer, and Marcel reed.

I still think that this teams is weak and soft and thst was because of Kelly's style. Baker's defense can be really good, but the DL has to be some bad men. If they can't move amd collapse the pocket, it just isn't going to work.

So, he sucked and should have never been hired. You hired someone who allowed your Dual Threat Quarterback to dominate their defense; he seemed clueless about how to stop JD5. The Alabama quarterback got drafted based on his performance against LSU. The Texas A&M quarterback will likely be a Heisman candidate due to his LSU games against us, where you couldn’t stop him. Pavia was the first dual threat quarterback this season to break through our defense. After that game, I realized our defense wasn't that good. Seller had a good game against us last year, but this year, he tried to play quarterback instead of using his athleticism. Baker isn't good, and I don't understand your infatuation with him.
