The answer was to keep O but not sign him to a huge contract after 2019. Use the saved money to hire the best two DCs at all times. When they leave for HC gigs, rinse and repeat. No HC besides Saban was worth the $10 million they are regularly paying these guys. You can get great coordinators for $2 million a year and these guys do most of the work. Plus this would freed O up to do what he was best at, recruiting.

Urban. Meyer
His teams are 99-20 in conference play with five championships

Meyer’s teams are 3-2 vs. the No. 1 team in the nation, 11-4 vs. Top 5 teams, 20-8 vs. Top 10 teams and 37-14 vs. Top 25 teams.
His teams are 45-4 when having more than one week to prepare for an opponent (includes season openers, games after “off” weeks and post-season games).
In first-time matchups vs. an opposing coach, Meyer’s teams are 94-15.

His ceiling is low based on what?

Based on the fact that he has coached for a million years and has not managed a championship!

If you have 0 titles in 25 plus years as the head man I’d say ceiling is low. He has been in the game a long time he is what he is.

I was a fan of Dave Aranda. I always felt he was the glue that held the 2019 team together. When he left for Baylor, Ed O failed to step up to the task.

I know he did not change the world at Baylor but he is solid. At the time BK was not even on my thought screen as an option.

Not off the bus yet. BK has done some things well, others not so much.

The dude has a very good chance of being fired this year and hasn't had a good season since Rhule's players left

Maybe would work if kept O from meddling. After 2019 dude thought he was some kind of football genius and wanted to run the O and the D

This is a ridiculous question. BK but without the contract that he has.

yeah, he should just leave a Notre Dame squad he had winning 10-11 games a year, because we asked!

careful now, that's straying in Tennessee post-Fulmer territory. Or Nebraska post-Osbourne..

You're talking about moving on from a guy because 9-3 isn't good enough for you.

Worse winning percentage, doesn't really recruit well out of high school, would be more expensive, etc
