For those off the BK bus, what would you have preferred?

Because these were the options in 2022:

1.) BK
2.) Napier
3.) (almost didn't include because wasn't a viable option) Riley. Probably would have cost us like $15mil and even then might have turned it down since his USC deal is secret.
4.) Jimbo
5.) [fill in blank]
6.) Keep O

That's basically it, which shows BK was the best choice...

Kiffin? Maybe?

Were those the only options or were those the only big name options?

This is a ridiculous question. BK but without the contract that he has.

Even then, just because he was best option then, does not make him best option now.

Kiffin. We’d be top 5 right now

Fickell and Kiffin

Those were the two I wanted.

Wasn’t over the moon about Kelly but thought he was solid. However, I now think he’s a middling coach who’s over the hill and will keep us as a perennial 8-9 win season team. Seldom more.

So insert a first time head coach into a massive rebuild at LSU?

Sounds disastrous.

I think Kiffin is also a good coach but I don't know what he's really shown to inspire the confidence that he'd be any better than BK.

It is going to fricking suck if he is great at Bama. I think it will happen. Their recruiting class is nasty and he's a phenomenal coach.

He was great at Penn State, arguably great in the NFL, and just beat FSU week 1.

Although a failed GM at the pro level, I’m sure he is a great recruiter in college and has prestige behind his name.

I’m not even sure Napier got an interview. Nor did Jimbo.

Orgeron wasn’t an option considering that he was fricking fired mid season.

I have no room to talk. I wanted Napier at the time

Yes. I'm sure the fanbase would have been thrilled with a HC who had only one full season as an HC...at Fresno St. Hindsight is always 20/20, but there was nothing in DeBoer's history that suggested he was set to be great at a power conf. school

Kiffen was probably the only guy who had some history of success and may have been interested outside of Riley or Kelly.

This would've probably been my answer.

Maybe Kiffin. I don't think that Riley would've ever some to LSU.

He did just bring the University of Washington to the National Championship game. I wouldn’t say he’s not phenomenal.
