OSU will absolutely not be #1 if LSU beats full strength Alabama and Georgia on the road. That is two top 4 wins on the road.

Period.

Yes I completely agree with this. I think getting the 1 seed is a big deal. However, if we win out that’s in the bag

This. Ohio state could finish the season beating 3 “actual” top ten teams.

At least top 12, but if we beat UGA we will have 3 final top 10 wins as well UGA , Bama and Florida and we should get credit for Auburn and Texas

We need to let it all play out, but Ohio State was ranked #1 before you beat Bama and took it from us. That's a very relevant data point. It's clearly close between 1 and 2. Having 3 more top 15 wins(Penn State, @Michigan, neutral B1G championship) to your 1 (neutral UGA) down the stretch could easily move Ohio State to #1.

But again, Ohio State needs to win first.

Only one of OSUs “hard” games is on the road. They’ve had an easy schedule and drawn two of their toughest opponents at home.

Say what you want about Texas, but that’s not an easy place to win. They had a ton of momentum coming off that Sugar Bowl win.

OSU has not played a tough schedule week in, week out like LSU. Their non conference games are stupid bad: Miami (OH), FAU, Cincinnati. Road games: Indiana, Rutgers, Nebraska, Northwestern, Michigan. You’re going to tell me Cincinnati is a better non-conf win than Texas in Austin? Please.

You do understand their rank when we played is what counts right?

Not in the final polls and CFP rankings. As teams slip your value of the win drops too. Do you really consider Miami a Top 10 win last season? They finished unranked. Miami and Texas were overhyped the last 2 years. Auburn likely finishes as a 4 loss team. Florida, Bama and hopefully UGA will all be top 10 wins at the end.

Using your thought process, if they lose to Ohio State, those 3 teams will drop in the polls and likely not be in the Top 10 in the final poll that decides the playoff.

I would bet Bama and GA would be ranked above any team Ohio State would have played, both at the time they played them and in the final poll.

LSU wins out, they are #1, no doubt at all.

Ohio state’s last 3 games will be against ranked teams. If they keep destroying their opponents like they’ve been doing then they will be no. 1. Especially if they keep playing defense the way they’ve been. Hard to argue with that.

If they destroy those teams then they would deserve to be number one. If they are close games then LSU may hold on or they may not.

Right now LSU has the best resume but Ohio State has looked the best against who they have played. If Ohio State keeps looking the same while the resume starts to catch up to LSU then they probably will pass LSU.

The wildcard is that LSU still has a game against a team in Georgia that will probably give LSU the two best wins on the board for the selection committee. Georgia/Bama could be 5/6 or 6/7 in that final ranking.

I concede that. Look, LSU’s resume is great. Beating Alabama on the road was good enough for me. I just don’t think some LSU fans are even trying to look at Ohio st. objectively.

It's amazing how dumb some people are on this board.

I don’t know why everyone assumes they will go undefeated. Very possible for a loss to penn state or AT Michigan who has drastically improved the last couple weeks

Lucky for us, the committee is not as emotionally immature as talking heads and pollsters. There is nothing anyone in the Top 3 did to move the needle this week. The rankings 1-4 will be exactly the same as last week’s.

They’ve played a better schedule than you are giving them credit for

Cincinnati is a good team, close to Texas. The other 2 are no worse than Ga St, NW St and Utah St.

LSU definitely has a better road schedule with Alabama alone but Michigan is a good team (too many rantards confuse being overrated with being bad) and Indiana is 7-3 and ranked

Still top 10 Penn St @Michigan BIG CG vs a top 10-12ish Minnesota or Wisconsin is a strong finish

Jesus Christ people... we aren't going to lose shite. FFS....

We literally just need to keep plugging along the way we have for 10 games, for 3 more games, and everything will take care of itself.

Just enjoy the fricking ride and buckle up, bitches.

Not with our defense. We match up much better with Oregon or Utah.

In essence I really don't care if we are #1 or not. We just need to make it to New Orleans for our "Home Game". Nothing else matters if you ask me.
