If LSU wins out and beats a top-five Georgia for the SEC championship, they’re number one. Hands-down. No further discussion necessary. That will be their fifth victory over an opponent ranked in the top 10. Probably a stronger resume’ than 2011.

Nothing matters but the final rankings, and LSU will have the top spot if they win out. So loosen up your sphincter’s and enjoy the ride.

Ohio state’s last 3 games will be against ranked teams. If they keep destroying their opponents like they’ve been doing then they will be no. 1. Especially if they keep playing defense the way they’ve been. Hard to argue with that.

So Ohio State beating a couple teams ranked in the teens is a better resume than LSU beating five teams ranked in the top 10. I’m glad you’re not on the committee.

Please stop counting Auburn and Texas as top 10 teams. Even Florida for that matter. You know if Alabama was claiming that you would be laughing.

I don't understand why it matters if we're 1 or 2. In fact, I'd rather play Clemson, wouldn't you?

It’s a fact. Those teams were ranked in the top 10 when they played. You guys can be nega Tigers all you want to, but you’re giving Ohio State more credit than they deserve right now.

Wake me up when OSU has #3 and #4 (Bama/UGA) on their resume, to go along with UF/Auburn......

You are counting 6-4 Texas as a top 10 win and Auburn who could finish 8-4. Penn St is #9 right now, Michigan is 12 in the AP and the Minnesota Wisconsin winner could be in the top 10 by the time the B1GCG is played

That sounds good, but if you really think about it, it’s stupid.

This. Ohio state could finish the season beating 3 “actual” top ten teams.

Of course rankings don’t matter right now. However, what happens if LSU drops to #3 and ends up losing to UGA in the SECCG? If LSU is #1 going into that game, Noway do they drop to #5, however, if they go into the game at #3, would there be a chance they drop to 5?

Says who?

So, using your rational, you beat a top 10 team the first week of the season. That team goes on to lose every game the rest of the season. And you think the committee is going to see that as a quality win because “their rank when we played is what counts”? Think about how stupid that sounds.
