That was the basis to get Wade. Wade wanted to give Javonte Smart's high school coach Shannon Forman an LSU basketball assistant coaching job.

Classic fake news media witch-hunt.

Petino gives recruits free hookers and syphilis but Forde will defend that til he's 6 feet under.

God forbid paying black inner city kids for their talent while the NCAA makes $1 billion every March

It didn't matter, all they had to do was give Woody an opening and he was going to take it.

I'm glad Lia Thomas beat Forde's daughter.

Because it’s against NCAA rules. Don’t like it change the rules, until then quit crying. What does race have to do with any of this?

the issue is the rules were stupid. paying players is good. the NCAA doesnt care about athletes thats why they let a dude win the womens swimming thing yesterday.

they know its ok to pay playaers, thats why they allow it now, indirectly. and they know the blue bloods were paying as well. it was personal for them. unprofessional.

So offering Javonte's coach an assistant coaching job is against NCAA rules? Seriously?

College level head coaches are banned by the NCAA from offering high school coaches jobs?

The NCAA is not even alleging Wade paid Smart. They are alleging he offered money and a job to Javonte's high school coach.

Agreed. Maybe it can become his new obsession after Wade.

Which is completely legal. A signing bonus to be an on the field coach is completely legal.

When you say "legal" do you mean based on laws passed by local, state and federal government or NCAA rules.

I know it's legal from local, state, and federal levels but is it against NCAA rules?

It's legal if it's an on field (or court) job. It can't be admin role, ops, or anything like that. It must be an actual assistant coach positions.

The idea is that those slots are too valuable to jugst ive away to someone like Danny Manning's truck driving dad.

Yes. Offering jobs and cash to get a commitment is against the rules. Are you going for the George Costanza defense?
