I was there. Every week was exciting. No BCS, no playoff, nobody freaking out trying to decided who should lose and who should get fired. I miss it.

This game is legendary in LSU defensive football; Notre Dame turned the ball over on downs three times inside the LSU ten yard line.

We had just moved to Baton Rouge and my Dad was never a Notre Dame fan. He watched that game and has been an LSU fan ever since.

I was there and sitting in the North EZ right at the tunnel where the Tigers come out.

This was easily my favorite game ever in TS. I'll have to watch this soon!

I'm gonna watch it with my mother. I mentioned this game in my book. My mother was pregnant for me and was put on bed rest and had to miss this game to save me.

This game is also the reason for Gerry DiNardo's "Bring Back the Magic" campaign.

Dinard was a Freshman and DID NOT travel with the team. He said when ND returned, all the upperclassmen were talking about how special and magical Tiger Stadium was...so in his intro Press Conference at LSU he said he wanted to "Bring back the Magic" and it was a PR team who then pushed for the white jerseys at home.

I was there too. It was my sophomore year at LSU. Sports Illustrated had it featured on it's cover. It read "Irish Stew for LSU".

I was there that night in the NE zone also. Remember the crowd was unbelievable.

Ronnie Estay is still one of the greatest DTs ever at LSU

Yep. He and John Wood were a heckuva good DT tandem.

Just reflecting but this was perhaps the last big win of Cholly Mac's tenure. Maybe Auburn in '72? Almost Nebraska in '76 and almost USCw in '79.

Another note, TS's field was setup farther north than it is now. Don't know the story behind that but I'm guessing it was in the 80's that the field was actually 'centered.'

I was 7, watched it on TV with my dad and two older sisters. Earliest game I can really remember. I wrote fan letters to Bert Jones and Andy Hamilton, doubt they ever got mailed.

I was in the south end zone. Back then you could get student tickets.

This is a great one, wish they had a copy of ABC original broadcast, i believe ABC was the first to start showing night college games. LSU/Alabama had a great game at night also, LSU losing to Bama 7-14 in 1970, Casanova did not play. There is an LSU/Auburn day game 1969 out there, LSU winning 21-20, no broadcast. Interesting in that game, Butch Duke made an appearance in the game. The LSU/Neb game, the 1971 Orange Bowl, is available with the original broadcast. Still looking for the LSU/Ark Cotton Bowl 1966, LSU upset the undefeated Razorbacks, 14-7. Love watching the old film, for me, the early years.

I was there. It was our first year of having season tickets on the east side. We still have those tickets. Tiger stadium was louder with 67,500 than it is now.

Me and my lovely bride of 50 years got married that day. We drove to NOLA, honeymooned for a little while then watched the entire game. (Great wife.) Continued honeymoon truly satisfied.

Note: Me and QB Paul Lyons grew up together and he was supposed to be a groomsman. But he had a conflicting date. Lol.

So I asked him to throw a TD pass for us. And he delivered in the 4th quarter with a strike to Andy Hamilton on the play where Hamilton left Gatewood lost. 28-8
