in '73, the game was nationally televised on Thanksgiving night, both were undefeated. McClendon alternated quarterbacks back then, to the chagrin of most fans. LSU beat Alabama at home 20-15 in '69, again beating them at Birmingham 14-9 in '70. In '71, it was the first year Alabama installed the wishbone, returning to LSU and winning 14-7 on a national televised night game but Casanova did not play. It would take LSU 10 years to beat Alabama 20-10 in '82...

This is a great one, wish they had a copy of ABC original broadcast, i believe ABC was the first to start showing night college games. LSU/Alabama had a great game at night also, LSU losing to Bama 7-14 in 1970, Casanova did not play. There is an LSU/Auburn day game 1969 out there, LSU winning 21-20...
