He entered the game on our third offensive possession last weekend. The score was 3-0. That drive started on the 20 yard line, and we went three and out. He threw a 1 yard pass and a 2 yard pass. That was not him at a disadvantage.

Stop lying dude lmfao. Go rewatch the game bc Max Johnson’s first drive started at the 1 yard line down 3-0. (TJ’s drive before MJ went in ended with 5:20 left in the 1st. They had it till like 3:00 when we got it back at the 1) The next A&M drive was the 50+ yard TD run. On the ensuing drive MJ started at the 25 down 10-0.

By the way in his first drive he completed one pass for almost 6 yards and had Gilbert run to the sticks it’s a first down. So I’m not sure what drive you are thinking of with the one and two yard passes.

He threw some really poor passes that he was lucky were not intercepted.

I’ve been saying this about TJ since the USC game. (1st and 15 to Jenkins, left side of the field, just over 5 min left, #24 for USC takes himself out of the play. Could’ve easily been picked off. But I digress)

quote:

Finley came back in, threw a 54 yard pass and then an INT

Btw Finley didn’t just throw a 54 yard pass and the. A lil ole darn INT LMFAO. He threw a 14 yard completion that the receiver ran for 40 yards AFTER the catch. Then he completely missed his target and killed a scoring opportunity. (Boutte play in between was nice but sadly not a catch)

But how beneficial is it to have a QB who makes great throws followed by horrible misses and INT’s? I don’t care if a guy can make the NFL throws If he can’t help but make a High school throw right after. That kind of play won’t get us near a national title.

Throwing lob up passes over the middle is not a good decision. Taking a sack is a much better decision than throwing a pick 6

No, just no. If he made the correct decisions, he didn't have the talent to perform them.

Coach O is consistently making bad choices all year this year. Why should he stop now?

It's not going to matter which one starts.

Gee, it’s seems like the bad old days when we didn’t have a viable option. It’s clear the staff thinks more highly of Finley than Johnson.
Bama’s D will likely torment either.
We’ll see how it goes without Terrace.

We should start the one the coaches think gives us the best chance to win. Certainly we should NOT base it on some numbskulls who are opining based on an extremely small sample size.

Bama will pressure the hell out of finley to force him to be agile and move around the pocket which he will struggle big time to do.

They didn't back off. They wanted the shutout. It wasn't really garbage time.

Great.

Start the guy who has trouble deciphering where the rush is coming from.

Johnson will finally get in for good when we are down 3 scores.

Doesn’t matter. Bo5 will play. Both will be killed. Do we have a 3rd qb? Might need him.

One drive at THE END OF THE GAME DURING GARBAGE TIME does not solidify MJ as the starter.
Watch more....post less.

Neither of these two give us a chance to win so let's throw that bullshite out the window. I like the decision here to give a kid who has looked more like a future starter the reps...good, bad or ugly

I'm not saying Max is the answer or should start but there is no denying that TJ is nearly immobile which is a problem.

He reminds me of Jamarcus Russell as JR was immobile but JR made up for it with his arm and ability to get rid of the ball. JR was a much better QB which we all know.

and who says his arm won't develop into something like what Jamarcus has...he seems to have the beginning ground work of that, but the kid is a TRUE FRESHMEN that had basically no camp with this team due to COVID and had no idea he would get playing time this year. The kid has tool and needs reps... we're not winning, so the best thing that can come from these games is REPS

MJ deserves the start and is the better of the 2 QBs. We are less likely to be completely humiliated if he starts and gets the vast majority of the snaps.

I would also be open to Stingley or ZvR getting a shot. Finley should not see the field as a QB against Bama.
