They both had good and bad moments, but i think TJ looks more game ready.

He is going to get destroyed by Bama. They smell blood in the water and will come at him with everything they got. He has shown he can't handle the pressure of defenses blitzing. I actually think it does more harm than good to start him.

I'm not saying Max is the next Joe Burrow but Max does have better mobility and can escape our poor Oline blocking.

They'll both get destroyed if our protection is as shitty as last week.

I'm really not sure how anyone could have a strong preference about either of these guys at this point.

The only demonstration we saw of this was him running back five more yards to take the sack.

It was so bad all I could do was laugh. Poor guy could have gotten a concussion from that one

Yeah garbage time reps are nice but they shouldn't factor heavily into the decision. Neither should be in this situation smh

If this is true that Finley starts, time for MAX to OPT OUT.
To me a bull shite decision by O

Both will play just like last week. With this offensive line and playcalling neither is being put in the best position to succeed.

maybe our coaches know this and feel like 6'5" 260 pound Finley is better suited to take a beating that Max. Joking (sort of) Nonetheless, I'd bet both play, so it doesn't really matter who starts. It's going to a bloodbath regardless, and neither guy has done anything to really separate himself from the other.

Max deserves the opportunity to start. Every time he has entered a game this season, it was at a disadvantage like last game taking possession at our own 5 yard line

He entered the game on our third offensive possession last weekend. The score was 3-0. That drive started on the 20 yard line, and we went three and out. He threw a 1 yard pass and a 2 yard pass. That was not him at a disadvantage.

The next possession is where we started on the 3 yard line, and we went three and out.

He was back in for his third straight possession, started at the 35, score 10-0, he picked up a first down on his first throw, then ran twice for a yard, then threw and incompletion.

So three drives, normal field position on two of them. Picked up one first down and had two three and out drives. Finley came back in, threw a 54 yard pass and then an INT. Finley took the ball down the field the next drive and York missed a short field goal.

After Johnson came back in the game in the 3rd quarter, he led our offense to 11 total yards on 14 total plays before the last drive of the game where we scored a TD. He was sacked several times. He threw some really poor passes that he was lucky were not intercepted.

Based on what? The quicker you realize they’re both projects right now, the quicker you’ll realize how dumb it is to think either “deserves” to start.

Finley wasn’t good last week. Max wasn’t either. Being the shiniest turd doesn’t deserve anything, especially if you’re not backing it up in practice.

Yeah, I don't buy that dismissing Max's best drive just because it was late in the game.

In fact A&M was even calling timeouts late in the game..

They very much wanted to shut LSU out.

When we provide him with a run game- yes. When we don’t, not so much.

The chances of this O Line providing a run game on Saturday are not great, so I’m not a big fan of this decision. I don’t think either of these guys presents a huge advantage over the other, so situational starts and rotations are the way to go. Johnson seems like he would be better suited to this one.

Take off your white only glasses, so that you can see who the better qb is.
