I want to preface this by saying that I NEVER watch the Paul Finebaum Show, but with all of the legal maneuvering going on nationwide, I thought I’d tune in to see if he had walked back anything he said about CLK and LSU.
Well, the very first caller goes on a rant about LSU and Kiffin, saying that if LSU plays the two players involved, the program should be fined AND banned from the postseason.
Finebaum’s response? LSU, under Kiffin, has become an “outcast in college football.”
Wait…WHAT?
So far, at least 5 judges in 5 different states have issued rulings involving dozens of players nationwide, with one ruling applying to an entire class of eligible athletes.
This is happening ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. LSU didn’t create this situation, and LSU sure as hell isn’t the only school involved.
At this point, Paul Finebaum has absolutely ZERO credibility as a serious college football commentator.

He’s doing all of this for ratings after the season starts three or four games he’ll be back to kissing up to Lane Kiffin

Kiffin had nothing to do with anything he is blamed for over recent times:
Leaving Ole Miss: Blame their AD and the NCAA calendar, plus he said he would stay and coach the playoffs, LSU much better job
Recent court BS: the players were wronged, and the NCAA was wrong! This had nothing to do with Lane Kiffin or LSU, period.
Kiffin will be the branded villain for life....too bad for those you can't deal with it.

Those callers are plants with a pre written agenda, they have a private number to call to be put through. It’s all part of the show. Do you really think its all random???

LSU certainly isn't the only school that will have these players if challenges to the preliminary injunctions fail. You'll probably see a crazed week with players being courted all over the place to leave NFL camps and then basketball will probably be even more chaotic with the G League players.
Calling LSU an outcast is certainly typical Finebaum exaggeration.
However, I think LSU was the only P4 program that abstained from voting along with their conference to not grant these exceptions and impose conference penalties on programs that did. That's made them the poster program pushing for it.

You are missing a very important point…..Finebaum does what he does solely to get ratings. And what he does is to piss people off.

They’re not given a script if that’s what you mean. No the calls aren’t random and I’m pretty sure all the callers know they’re gonna be on before they chime in. The producer asks “what do you want to talk about,” and maybe they get a brief rundown and a feel for their personality to see whether or not they want to use them. Obviously the more colorful, the more attention you’ll get.
But y’all make it seem like someone goes backstage and says, “ok Bob, today you’re Steve and you’re going to ask about NIL”
That doesn’t happen.
