Paul Finebaum is an entertainer and a pot stirrer, not a journalist whose statements should be treated as facts. He throws out controversial opinions, for clicks and ratings.
The problem is that too many people hear him say something on television and immediately treat it as gospel, even when there’s no evidence behind it.

Bama literally had a basketball player try to come back last year after going pro. He got a court injunction and was able to play 5 games, but was eventually ruled ineligible as the SEC pushed back.

He actually wanted to do it.
Byrne stopped him because he wanted to use this as an opportunity to have Finebaum attack LSUs brand and hamstring them himself.
This is more about Alabama realizing they dont run the SEC anymore than people realize.
