re: Fans leaving early-I turned off the TV early

I only stayed until 3 minutes left because my kids and their buds were having fun with each other.
It was brutal. What made it worse was that tv guy with the red clock on the field half of the game. Wife told me after that all she remembers from the game was both teams in a huddle on the sideline.

Really? Confirmed?
LSU Barstool posted a picture of it empty with a minute or two left I think.

If tweet fails to load, click here. I read a comment where they said they might have gone down to talk to the players since the game was essentially over.

I thought it was the bama coaches who left early. It was the LSU coaches?

I normally stay to the end if attending and watch till the end if not attending, but it was evident by the 2nd quarter that Bama was going to win big. At no time did I think LSU had a chance.
I thought I would be one of the only die-hard fans that turned off the game a little into the 4th quarter, but it sounds like many did.
Glad to see it wasn't just me.

I watched the entire game and turned it off right before clock hit 0:00, so I didn’t have to hear Rammer Jammer. No chance I would have stayed the entire game if I was at the stadium. I don’t blame anyone that stopped tuning in for that shite project on the field Saturday night.

I stopped at 21-3 cause I knew they arent good enough to come back from such a deficit against a good team

I've never left an LSU FB game early, but I have no criticisms for those who departed on Saturday. If the team can't even be competitive, they haven't earned the fans' support.

I am the same... never leave early and people around me hate me for continuing to yell. But it is all I can do at that moment to help those young men out there. It is the least I can do.

Was I just that drunk and imagined Bama fans chanting “hey, hey, hey…goodbye” in the background? Because I could’ve swore that and them throwing up the L was when I decided to turn the TV off and finish my last drink.
I can understand a loss, but getting blown out at home like that was brutal.

I knew we'd come back on USC, and I even told my kids when we're down 17 to 0 that we'd beat south carolina.
I turned it off early in the 3rd. I knew that morning that the day just felt off as hell, told my wife I don't like our chances. I got a knack for feeling things out early. My seafood boil my wife saved the night for me lol. Horrible football week. Joe and jayden lost by 1, my son was moved up to 8u for their playoffs, they lost 35 to 0. Then lsu, at least trump swept. That's what's important. Have an adoption hearing tomorrow for my other 3 kids, if that turns out to be a win then the football crap is gonna be real easy to swallow. Def day dreamed of trump sweeping, beating bama, and adopting my 3 kids all in 7 days but I can damn sure do with 2/3.

I stayed until end but it was raining so I don't blame anyone for wanting to get out of that.
It was a bad game and worst loss in many years...
The 55-17 loss to them in the 2020 Covid abomination was actually worse--they had 45 at half and ran up 650 yards of offense. But I almost don't count anything that happened that year as real.
Well except for the Florida shoe-toss the next weekend

Also, I thought we were as loud as ever on the opening drive. I literally couldn't hear myself yelling.
Caused 1 false start. Stadium was rockin. Bama took us fans out of it after that though.
Left in the 3rd after Nuss INT in end zone then Bama marched down and scored. It was over.

Turned it off mid third quarter and went to bed.

First time I think I've ever watched an LSU football game on TV that I didn't even watch until the end. Turned off at 35-6. Didn't know until this morning that we even scored a late meaningless TD.
Posted on 11/11/24 at 1:09 pm to mpwilging
I turned it off before halftime. I knew after the first drive that Bama was going to kick our arse.
Posted on 11/11/24 at 1:15 pm to mpwilging
I left at 28-6 along with many. You could just feel that this was not going to happen. Raining did not help.

I've watched the least amount of both college and pro football so far this year than any other time in my life. I have been watching more of the college game, but not by much.
All the rule changes in pro ball has taken away a lot from the game. Quarterbacks may as well have skirts as part of their uniform now, and these new kickoff rules are ludicrous. Read the new rules for an on-side kick and it's even more ludicrous since there is no "surprise" once in the formation----it HAS to be an on-side kick.

I had people over to watch the game. They wanted me to put the projection screen on outside so they could watch on the deck. I said no to that because I needed somewhere to go where I couldn't see the game and still be able to enjoy my evening. I knew Milroe would thrash this team. I was grilling some food so I'd check in when walking back into the house, but stopped mid way through 2nd quarter as the expected results were coming to fruition.
