I believe the Tiger Park weight room or indoor facility money was donated at least 2 years ago by a now deceased friend of the program and it's still not built. His family is still good friends of the program and great people!! Wish he would have been able to see it.

The real credit goes to Skip Bertman. His reign as AD is where the heavy lifting happened to open up the revenue sources.

Well hell, let’s make him Director of Sports Facilities then and fill the AD position with Woodward.

It’ll never be done in time.

He would be better at director of facilities because he struggles with coaching hires and administration

So why don't we have either?

Joe,

Please explain how it is possible to have the vision to install the enhanced gating system, and yet be too stupid to utilize all four lanes at each gate while trying to get 100,000 people into Tiger Stadium.

Let's not forget his botching the Florida game rescheduling.

Also, don't forget Alleva's disaster with the Duke Lacrosse team before coming to LSU. That spoke volumes on his true attributes of caving under pressure and running for the easy way out. Sound familiar? LSU should never have hired him.

Not the best AD but not the worst either....all schools gripe about their AD one way or another
Overall facilities look much better than ever before...espically tiger stadium and the north endzone
Im sure many people had a hand in that happening
But in reality after joe is gone we will only be griping about someone else...

He shows up in 2008, and you are going to give him credit for building a baseball stadium? I mean, really, all he had to do was stay out of the way.

He can’t negotiate a contract worth a shite but he’s good at upgrading.

LSU was making bank before he got here. So he's been able to spend money on some things.

curly hallman was one of the first coaches in all of football to have an indoor training facility built.

No one is sitting here sucking him off.

And some of that is just wasted money. And they didn't even build the nutrition center when and where they had planned on doing it.

Pretty much the same with the softball park. That was the brainchild of Bertman.

You forgot one of the most important renovations of the Alleva tenure:

Mike's Habitat, and at the same time, not caving to the PETA/PC/SJW lobby that may or may not have decided to come out and crush him in the headlines. Replacing Mike took more balls than people give him credit for.

The man isn't perfect and he's made some mistakes, but if we're having an objective debate, then you have to give the man credit where it is due.

Yes, the JJ hire and botched LM fire were misses, and he may never live down the Duke Lacrosse scandal, but if you honestly grade the man on results, he's gotten a lot more right than wrong and has been part of creating a golden era of LSU sports.

You can add Athlete Graduation Rate to his accomplishments.

quote:

LSU's 90 percent rating was up two points from last year's mark of 88 and it marked the eighth time in nine years the school's performance improved from the previous year. The 90 percent GSR rating is up a staggering 21 points since vice chancellor and director of athletics Joe Alleva took over at LSU.

My wife is very good at spending money, but I'm not sure that would make her a good AD.

I went to the LSU-WVU football game (that TM7 won for us) and I could buy beer at the stadium.

West Virginia (the state) is like #46, #47, or #48.

(Thanks Mississippi & Arkansas)

I cannot give Alleva a positive rating until the average adult fans at TS have the FREEDOM to legally drink beer there like normal people nationwide.

That's not really his decision.

It's the SEC's insane policy. Think about this...with the advent of the Skyline Club, 100% of the new South End Zone upper deck has access to free food and alcohol.

That's about as much as LSU and Alleva can do atm.
