Sorry, that's not how language works. If you're pronouncing it in a way that is not an option with the letters you chose, you can't expect the world to learn your new alphabet.

Interesting thread.
But you are correct. But then again, few in this thread who are from South Louisiana have any idea the history of name spelling and pronunciation and all the errors that occurred in the 19th century by the census takers.
By the way, I’ve known several people with the last name Favre. None of them pronounce it the way Brett does, NONE.
