I’m so sick of espn treating college baseball like a red headed step child. Compare it to men’s basketball.

ESPN barely gives you the final scores. Very few of the games actually have stats let alone highlights you can watch. You can’t filter out to only show SEC scores. It’s total trash. This isn’t a damn club sport it’s the 3rd most popular sport across the board and this is trash.

I’ve said it for years, college gameday for baseball would be so cool. Go to all of the premier stadiums to showcase the sport like you do for football and basketball. It would basically be in the SEC every weekend but come on. There is enough of a demand in the Big12 and ACC as well. I know there’s other places to get your college baseball info but I’m just saying espn needs to really step it up. They’re missing out on a great opportunity here.

The more ESPN gets involved in college baseball, the more they’re gonna freak it up.

We’re at the point where almost every game is televised. Not just LSU, all over the country.

Let’s kinda leave it at that.

Drives me nuts that the networks will play damn near every softball or women’s basketball game but unless it’s the post season or maybe a couple select games during the regular season you have to pay extra for SECN+.

I mean I get it, if baseball was on ESPN or SECN and softball and WBB were only available on streaming then they’d sell almost no extra subscriptions to their streaming services because no one wants to pay to watch women’s sports.

3 years ago they didnt have a scoreboard for college baseball, and now they have one with the ability to look at stats for certain games. Its not perfect, but its a whole lot better than it used to be

If you have cable or internet TV provider and get the SECN, then there is no charge to stream SECN+ programs on the ESPN app. You log in on the app with your TV provider credentials. All three games this weekend were available that way.

ESPN+ is different. You do pay for it, but very few LSU baseball games are on it. (Nicholls this week is one of them.)

Incorrect.

It has been discussed a million times on here. Throw out the SEC and ACC and a couple of outliers, and college baseball is a "nothing" sport to much of the rest of the nation.

There are plenty of places where womens basketball outdraws college baseball and it isn't even close.

There are places where lacrosse and hockey are way more popular than baseball.

I think the programmers know more than you, so I doubt it.

No one cares about college baseball. It's football and men's basketball all that matters

bingo.

look at ESPN NBA broadcasts. It’s usually 2 ex-WNBA players no one has ever heard of and some angry loud moron aiming for viral tik tok hot takes, like Kendrick Perkins.

I’d rather just listen to the radio broadcast and mute the tv broadcast anyway.

Plus, a ton of other schools playing. You can watch college baseball for 10-12 hours on the weekends.

Outside of the SEC, ACC, and to a lesser extent PAC-12 (do they still exist?) there just isn't a whole lot of interest in college baseball.

Ugh, Oklahoma proved that wrong by only bringing 800 people to their opening game of the season

How much do you care about college hockey? That’s about the same amount anybody outside of the south cares about college baseball.

Good highlights packages are available on YouTube, usually soon after the game. Here is one from yesterday's game.

Uh, only 500,000 fans or so attended LSU home baseball last year. Maybe 700,000 for LSU home football. Pretty close. From what I see on TV maybe 150,000 or so for LSU home basketball (say 8000 per game).

You should restructure your thinking.

It may be the 3rd most popular sport but that doesn't mean it gets the audience for them to put time & effort into what you are asking for.

There is no comparison to men's basketball.

Men's basketball is immensely more popular, nationwide, than baseball. Hell, even women's basketball in many places is more popular than baseball. That's not said to shite on baseball. It's just reality. LSU is probably one of, maybe the only place, where baseball is more popular than men's basketball. And that is only because the basketball program has been struggling for multiple years now and inconsistent for the better part of 35 years.

I think they would know.

Outside of a few places in the SEC there is very little demand for college baseball. Even really good ACC and Big 12 programs struggle for support. It's virtually non-existent elsewhere.

Now tabulate the numbers for every school. It's going to be much different.
