I don’t understand why ESPN has insisted on forcing these two moronic Acho brothers on the public
Well only one of them works for ESPN

If that happens probably means team is injury riddled and not much you can do about it.
With a $40M+ roster, you better figure it out.

That’s his bold claim on SportsCenter tonight.
That would mean a 5 loss (or more) season.
LSU ended the season unranked in 2024 with 4 losses.
But I am hopeful that LSU will have a better season this year than 2024.

That would be piss poor roi

I doubt he believes this. It is just ESPN trying to be dramatic. Controversial statements are an attempt to create interest.

8-4 would be ranked.
LSU 8-4 regular seasons since the onset of the 12-game regular season
2002 - 8-5, lost bowl game, unranked
2014 - 8-5, Lost bowl game, unranked
2016 - 8-4, Won bowl game, 17 (one game cancelled due to rescheduled Florida game)
2024 - 8-4, Won bowl game, unranked
Based on history, I would say that a 4-loss regular season will probably mean we are unranked.
In the lone season in which we ended up ranked, we ended the regular season unranked and jumped back into the rankings after beating Louisville. Here are the factors that may have led to that:
We beat 2 teams that were ranked in the regular season when we played them.
All 4 losses were by 10 or fewer points (10-0 loss to Alabama)
3 losses were by 6 or fewer (2, 5, 6).
3 losses were to teams that ended up in the top15, two in the top 10.
We won our bowl game against a ranked Lamar Jackson Louisville team
Also of note is that we had a midseason coaching change that may have garnered us some sympathy votes.

Thoughts?

Sam Acho
The only talking head on ESPN worse than Ryan Clark, so I guess he takes that title undesputed now.

I mean...yes, but if your team is injury riddled 2 deep what coach is going to make it through the season unscathed? It's just an incredibly unlucky season and there isn't really much you can do about it. That guy is puffing air anyway because it's likely not happening but there's always a possibility.
Not sure how anyone would be concerned about this if you were decimated by injury. Just another ESPN hack with a hot take. My advice to anyone: stop watching ESPN period. There's much better places to watch about sports. They're the CNN of sports.

Acho must be thinking LSU is going to lose over half their starters to injuries.

I predict LSU finishes the season ranked in top ten. It’s as if this dude knows nothing about this current team at LSU.

10-2.
SEC will be a dog-eat-dog world more than ever now with 9 games. Just survive the regular season. We could always be a better playoff team than regular season team like Miami last year or Ohio State the year prior.
yup. just survive now and make playoffs NFL style.
be healthy for playoffs and make a run each year.

Rage bait not worth engaging but our dumb fans will do it anyway

I think we go 8-4 so makes sense. The schedule is fairly brutal

I’m curious to know where LSU fans expecting 9-3/10-2 at worst are getting their confidence.
This roster isn’t much better than last years. LT upgraded but the line still has big question marks, edge upgraded, and Leavitt brings hope, but who knows how his foot will hold up and if his struggles vs State were just a fluke or a sign of bigger issues. And you lost by far your best defender in Delane

We went from top 5 to unranked last year.

ESPN has lost all credibility. They went from knowledgeable sports guys giving real insight and facts to just everyone trying to outdo each other with outlandish opinions for shock value. I’m home all day and I’ve yet to find a single show I can watch.
