I don't doubt Napier at all. I think he is a great coach and could do great things at LSU. Having said that. I believe there are better options out there but under no circumstance would I be upset if Napier ended up here.

There were several other more accomplished names other than Jay Johnson available for the baseball job. But Woodward got the lesser known, but higher upside guy.

Some of you clowns would pass on the next Saban because he wasn’t all that accomplished at Michigan State.

I at first was against it. I suggest u reevaluate
And go read his history. One he was an all conf qb. His offenses have always been good. He’s shined in key areas as a OC like res zn top and turnovers. He recruits well also. ASU apushed hard for BN to stay as the oc when grantham was fired for Herm. And Herm agreed which is a solid endorsement bec for one that never happens and if anyone knows a good coach Herm Edwards does. He’s wked under saban and dabo.

I like Napier but I think he’s gonna have go to a mid tier power 5 first for a few years. But I could see him being one of the “hot shot, fast riser” type coaches after that.

But, this would be Woodward’s first shot at hiring a FB head coach. He knows this is his first really huge stamp on the football program and he’s going to swing for the absolute fences. And he should.

He’s already turned down 3 sec jobs. He’s not leaving the Cajuns to go to a mid tier job.

If Napier ends up at LSU, I'm going to vote to replace Woodward.
And the day before we played UCLA you would have voted Coach O as the best 4 year head coach in the country. Now you want to fire him

Not that your takes were ever worth anything, but they have been so bad over the past 3 months they are now worth less than nothing.

Woodward has already made agent inquiries, I bet. He knows who he wants. Wouldn't surprise me.

It will be like the baseball search. Everyone will have a source and a name. Woodward will have them looking like a blind man in a room that has been rearranged.

It's what he does.

I mean he ain’t Saban, nobody is. I think a lot of the Saban coaching tree guys have failed because they weren’t ready to be a HC. Making that jump from behind the scenes to face of a major program is a big step. I don’t get that vibe from Napier, dude seems incredibly focused and stable.

My opinion doesn’t mean a thing but I think he’s the real deal. Also, Orgeron is mostly a talentless grifter so it doesn’t get worse.

Not sure who the hot coach is this year but historically those guys don’t work out. It’s not always the guy with the recent success or turnaround program. The best hire might be a nobody.

Nah, based on Woodward's style of hiring big coaches, Fisher at aTm, Mulkey at LSU, Woodward will go for bigger fish. CUM c'mon down.

I liked that it worked out to where LSU got Jay Johnson. I am sorry I still like to see the season play out a little more with Napier. Also, what's wrong with considering others as well?

Anybody that can turn little chicken shite USL/UL-L/SWLAJC into a Top 20 program has to be doing some serious coaching!

What do yall think he could do with a great DC (How about Jeremy Pruitt?) and LSU's Offensive talent?

Of course, he'd have to undergo a major OL renovation, but with Dellinger coming back, (If he doesn't enter the Black Hole and head back to Michigan) and Campbell/Bordelon coming in, plus a transfer or two, it could be accomplished with a great OL Coach coming in with him.

LSU could do much worse and they might have the next Saban there.........

Should only be considered if we get shunned by several bigger names, more proven commodities.

Problem with that is they're already employed by legit programs and it would be a lateral move

THEY love stirring the pot? The "pot" has been stirring here at this shite hole for fair weather fast food uninformed ignorant "fans" long before ESPN brought it up.

If the "fans" get their way here and O is fired LSU will be set back 5 years and lose massive amounts of recruits. My pleasure will be listening to the same ignorant clowns who helped cause this whine and moan about why we are losing in state kids to other SEC teams.

Having said that, I would be absolutely shocked if he was Woodwards 1st choice as there are better more proven coaches out there.

Maybe we could get Saban, Dabo Sweeny, Dan Mullin, Lane Kiffin, Lincoln Riley or Jumbo Fisher. Oh damm wait a minute our current head coach beat them all.

Never mind.

Joe Biden could have led this team to a natty in 19'.

O gets credit for 19 but literally any other coach on the planet could have done the same exact thing with the talent and support staff that O had.

All of this talk about coaches who already have jobs filling a vacancy that doesn’t exist and all that I can think about is how sick all of those ULL fans must be that the commentators on THEIR game spent half of a quarter talking about LSU. ??????
