BIG difference is that Saban inherited a shite show and turned it around in short order. Orgeron inherited talent out the wazoo. He caught lightning in a bottle and should be beloved forever in Louisiana. However, had Saban stayed longer his winning percentage would have continued to go up while Ed is currently spirling downward... 54% over his past 13 games. Yikes!

Saban didn't have to deal with himself on the other sideline every year, either.

Did we play Alabama 5 times last year?

He claims he’s stating facts when what he’s actually doing is spinning everything one way while ignoring facts that take away from that spin. Totally misleading and dishonest.

Now look at the trajectory. What was Saban in his last 13 games coached?

Saban was 9-3 in his last year at LSU. He beat one ranked team; UF who was coached by Zook and was terrible. Saban's team was awful in the Citrus bowl against an overmatched IOWA team.

Saban is the GOAT and built the foundation for todays LSU elite program. But, Miles was better if you just look at their LSU records.

Hey man if you only look at O’a 2-3 season and Saban’s 3rd and 5th season.

O is 25-3 and Saban was 17-8

Try and argue with that!

Can you dispute the numbers. Doesn't matter what happened after 2004 or what may or may not happen going forward. For five years at LSU they are virtually identical.

Raw numbers with no context are meaningless. Regurgitating them as if it’s exactly the same is lazy and stupid.

Lol the thread title is Ed Orgeron is Nick Saban 2.0, then he says “prove me wrong”

So we know Saban has 7 national titles and O only has one and that should be enough proof but he wants us to prove the future so the question is bullshite.

Obviously they took over very different LSU programs in a different SEC, but nonetheless it’s still a pretty interesting comparison with oddly equal results.

Not really, Gerry Dinardo was 26-9-1 to start his career at LSU. Orgeron started
25-9 so he’s just as close to him.

Spinning? Where? The numbers are what they are.

Its a reasonable span to compare, Saban coached 64 games and won 48 at LSU.

Orgeron has coached 62 games and won 47. Had they not had two OOC games cancelled last year Orgeron would probably have 49 wins in the same number of years.

This is truth, not spin.

Let’s see what comes out of the excuse machine the next few weeks.

This team isn’t going 9-3 or even 8-4 with no ability to even threaten running the ball

And yet only lost on a Hail Mary (with 2 guys being held )

Interesting that you break down the 2004 schedule to denigrate Saban but offer no context here

2005-07 Miles was 34-6 do you honestly think Saban would not have done AT LEAST that? Saban’s LSU record isn’t better because he took over a mess and left before really coaching the program he built

Again more spin, you leave out what you don’t want seen and present a totally perverted description of the truth. You’ve done it with the comparison and in describing what you’ve said, which anybody can read btw.

It’s meaning less without context.

Saban took over a very different program to not acknowledge that is the spin in the end you are just deluding yourself

I left out nothing. Anything which you or I would add is nothing more than speculation. Would you have picked LSU to beat Tennessee in 2000 or Georgia in 2018? Would you pick UAB over LSU in 2000 or Troy over LSU in 2017? There are no sure bets.

I mean Picking “this last three full seasons” because the numbers are the same when that means season 3-5 for Saban and 2-4 for O doesn’t really make much sense.

Als it includes Saban’s last year whole
o is still coaching one.
