re: Ed Orgeron is Nick Saban 2.0

Saban went to Alabama and went 7-6 in his first year, then national championship, and has been at the top ever since.
How can you even compare the two? I think by this point everyone knows that Saban is the best there is. It's hard to compare any coach to him. This is not fair to Saban as much as I hate Alabama.

I didn't compare the two. I simply noted the two coaches have virtually identical records as LSU coaches after 64 games. Why is it "unfair" to Saban, its the indisputable truth.

Maybe the record downvotes that you have received along with the replies can clue you in to how absurd your argument is.
I am not engaged in a popularity contest to get as many likes as I can This is not Facebook. Its the unvarnished truth and you and all of the righteously indignant downvoters cannot refute it so .

Plain and simple O is the coach but has ZERO input on either side of the ball. When he has tried, Troy happens.
So when Saban tried, UAB and UL- Monroe happened according to your logic.

this is stupid. Saban took over a shite program and had to totally rebuild the recruiting relationships within the state
O took over one of the most successful programs in cfb since 2000 with a ready made recruiting base

Just stahp. Your OP is quite literally a compassion between the two.

Remind me which one built a program from the ground up..and which one took over an already established top tier program with top 10 talent.

NOPE. Just stated two facts. The righteously indignant made subjective comparisons and made quantum leaps into areas not mentioned in my post. Some even compared the two to Les Miles. Les Miles is no where to be found in my first post.

Funny thing is you think you’re smart but actually you’re a sarcastic little shite who clearly can’t accept that your premise is flawed and your thread is garbage. Or quite possibly just trolling. I can’t tell if you’re 16 or just an a-hole.

I am not the one making the sarcastic comments, but seems you fit in that category.
There is not a single thing flawed in what I posted . Its the absolute truth. There is no "premise", but you sure seem to be triggered.

No bud, I really don't care if you continue to make a fool of yourself or not. You enjoy being a dumbass - that's cool with me.
I was a student during the Dinardo and early Saban days. What Saban did to turn LSU around cannot be understated. You are trying to base your entire argument on a win/loss record. What Saban did for LSU was so much more than that. He created a juggernaut that resulted in three consecutive HC's winning a natty.
Saban put LSU on the map. Les sort of kept us there. O struck gold and gave us 2019. But as another poster stated earlier, O is going the wrong way and any reasonable person can agree. You want to pump sunshine, cool. I go to all the games. In total I have spent over $15k just this year alone on LSU football/basketball tickets.
Stop glossing over all of the posts that refute your silliness. Or, keep being an arse. Either way, I'm having a great day.

The problem (if you want to SPELL it out) is not the coaching. It's the institution. LSU is o.k. with being "mentioned" as a national title contender. ALA is THE national title contender.
Texas A&M was always considered the step child of The Univerity of Texas. LSU is considered the step child of Ala. Always has been.
Orgeron is trying to change that persona. The way LSU rebounded to close out 2020 season was nothing short of remarkable considering all the opt outs, etc.
Max Johnson and the LSU receivers and OFFENSE and DEFENSE in general were DOMINANT Sat. night. It was fun to watch. Tigers look to be back on track in 2021.
I like the comparison and while SABAN is the greatest of all-time coach in college football I truly believe CEO will help speed along his imminent retirement. He (SABAN) already looks tired and confused on the sidelines. Trajectory looks good.

No, bud, I made no argument. I simply stated the two have the same record after 64 games as LSU coach. We can all speculate how many titles Saban would have had at LSU if he stayed and we can speculate how disastrous the remainder of Orgeron's tenure might be, but the former never happened and the latter is to be determined. I could care less how much you spend on tickets you can't refute the truth of what I stated in my original post. Your ad hominem attacks prove you have lost the intellectual argument.
Posted on 9/20/21 at 4:23 pm to lsufan209
OP needs to understand the difference between a coach’s tenure at a school and a coach’s overall ability. For example by most measurements of success in college football (wins, titles, championship game appearances, bowl births etc.) Mark Dantonio and Les Miles had more successful tenures at Michigan State and LSU respectively than Saban did at either school. But no one would argue that they were anywhere near Saban’s level as coaches (X’s and O’s or otherwise).
And anyway you can play with facts like these all you want. Like Saban was 6-6 his first year at Bama and so was Mike Shula the year before. So at that point was Saban Shula 2.0?

Saban had to rebuild when he got here.

Approved.
