Does anyone know the story on Jada Richard leaving?

Did she leave because Kim brough in Jada Williams? Or did Kim get Jada WIlliams because Jada Richard was poached by Ole Miss? What was the story there? And is anyone nervous we might regret that decision? Based off the 2 exhibition game williams looks like a good player but im not sure shes worlds above Richard, and I hate losing a Louisiana player.

It was this very moment that I learned that Jada Richard and Jada Williams were different people. I guess I saw the name Jada and then a generic last name and it never clicked

Just from some past post that discussed the situation, I believe she was looking for more NIL opportunities and she also knew Kim would be bringing in some competition. It was probably due to these reasons.

Man I feel like we will end up regretting this. I’m not seeing this new girl as some all world point guard she was billed to be. And Richard made huge jumps last season and seemed to be headed for a break out season. She also was a Louisiana player that played with no fear in the sec.

Seems like CKM brought in Williams after Richard decided to leave after telling CKM she was staying. Word on street is Ole Miss HC was recruiting her during season thru family connections and more NIL may have been reason not competition that was there when she agreed to stay

Ok thanks that’s why I was asking. How does Richard family think that was ever a good idea? You gain nothing but a few extra bucks maybe but you ostracized yourself from your home state team forever when you could’ve left here a legend and had connections for a lifetime.

Richard is a shoot first point guard while Williams is a pass first point guard.

I dont blame coach yo, it's the game now. Jada thought she wasn't a priority, she moved on. We'll work on winning a natty without her.

I think everyone (who cares) wanted Jada Richard to stay, and thought she would... until she didn't. The Ole Miss coach recruiting her and giving her more NIL seems most likely, though there is some discussion of other potential factors. Regardless, she is gone, and we have to hope Jada Williams can mesh with the rest of the team to compensate for her departure.
Goldenmoment made a nice post in the women's exhibition thread last night which contrasts Richard's game vs Williams'. TLDR: He considers Richard a better scorer. He considers Williams a better passer with better vision to help the offense flow.
So, there is some hope Williams' game may prove more of an asset over time. Remains to be seen, of course.

thats just a weak arse excuse man. Jada was the starting point guard and getting a lot of off the court opportunities to make money. And frick Coach Yo using the race card to trick these players and families into leaving Kims team. Thats not the game. Thats being a snake and a shite person. This is women’s bball, not national champion level football, which is a little different. Also, this is where we are. State loyalties are taking a backseat to money.

She's just taking from Dawn staley's playbook. If you're a black coach, why would you not? If Jada wasn't so weak minded, she would have seen through it.

For me, this is why I believe Williams will mesh with this team better than Richard. I thought it was obvious that Richard DID NOT want to be a pass first point guard, which is what Kim prefers.....................................unless you're a generational player like Odyssey Sims was for her. From what I've seen in the exhibition games, which of course is a small sample, she'll fit in better with what we have with Milaysia and Mikayla at the other guards. If we didn't have prolific scorers like that in those positions, then Richard might have been better. But under the circumstances, I'll take Williams game for THIS TEAM, more than Richard's.
