we still have Brian Kelly as a coach…
Kelly is the best coach we have had since Saban left. Les was a good coach when we hired him. Towards the end he began to taper off a little, but Kelly is a little better than Les.

But I understand, we identify better intellectually and culturally with Kelly's predecessor than him.

well I knew Bama wasn't a top ten team from the beginning, and yesterday proved it.

How much football you watching these days? Half of the top 15 doesn't look like teams that should be in the top 15. The days of four good teams and 100 below average teams are over

I have thought it’s was Texas as the best team but I think OSU has a QB that will cost them a game or two

The fact is our offense is very talented and will make us a formidable opponent, but our defense will be the Achilles Heel.

I’m not convinced Texas has separated itself from the others-

Michigan is their best win, it’s questionable how good that team is, possibly will be unranked after this past Saturday.

Mississippi State, the next best team they have played is likely the worst team in the conference. That game was close until the 4th quarter.

The rest of their schedule up to now has been garbage.

Texas - hasn't played anybody worth a flip. Michigan is a super fraud, but Texas also hasn't lost, so i can't complain.
Bama - with 6 minutes to go in the 4th, Bama was ahead of South Florida by less than a TD. They blew a 28 point lead to UGA, and if Ryan Williams didn't make an amazing play on that insanely horrible Milroe pass, they would have lost. They lost to friggin Vandy, who lost to Georgia St. However, their offense actually scares me, not Ole Miss.
UGA - Almost lost to UK, was down by 28 at one point to Bama, and struggled early vs Auburn. However, UGA is still a big dawg.
OSU - I'll give you that
Penn St - LSU did better vs UCLA than they did. They almost lost to Bowling Green.
Oregon - almost lost in back to back weeks to Boise St and Idaho. They beat UCLA 34-13, we did 34-17.
Ole Miss - lost to UK, and scored less on USCe than we did
Arky - should probably be undefeated, but they are in their own way. If you would take them over us in a neutral field, i can't trust you with anything important.
AnM - On a neutral field over us?
UK - no
Michigan - can't throw, so no. Pass defense is terrible this year. Arkansas St gave them the business.
Miami - I'll allow it, but they can also get got.
Tennessee - nah. They've scored 25 and 14 points on teams with a pulse.
USC (already did it once) Yeah that was game one where we should have won 50 different times over. We also didn't play Durham at all that game. LSU would likely beat USC by 10 at least now.

I'd give you Bama, Ohio St, Miami, UGA, and Texas. Penn St hasn't lost so I'd have them over us based on principle, but I'd definitely bet LSU would win. Oregon hasn't loss so they'd be the same as Penn St for me. I can't
give Ole Miss a spot over us. Tennessee put up 4 more points vs Auburn than Oklahoma did, and scored 14 vs Arkansas. That 14 points ties Auburn as the lowest Arkansas has given up in FBS play. Color me not impressed by Tennessee anymore.

Personally, I'd have LSU at 8, but we will likely be 10th as i think they keep Tennessee and Ole Miss over us.

If LSU defense plays above average any game we are Top 5. If the defense plays average we are 5-15. If the defense plays like they did against USC, we are barely a top 20 team.

Offense isn’t usually the problem though I wish Nuss had more of a killer instinct.

Yes, tons of parity, we have a top 5ish QB in the nation, a top 3ish offensive line, deep WR group and a stud freshman RB. On defense we still have the size and speed to hang with anyone and just enough playmakers.

Throw in a semi favorable schedule and yeah, we are the tenth best team right now.

Possibly yes. Possibly no. If DL continues to improve and we figure out some safety stuff. Yeah. Our offfense is plenty good.

Yep. My opinion to the op is “no”.

Could LSU run the table and end up top 4? Sure.
Could they lose 3-4 more? Yes.

Some people are so dense that they take it personally if someone, based on what they have seen, doesn’t think LSU is top 10.

LSU is 4-1. If we can beat Ole Miss, we would be 5-1, 2-0 and deserve a top 10 ranking. I'd rank us about #15 today.

Just beat Ole Miss!

Not even close. I think they are 25-30 if I’m being totally honest. One minor injury and they aren’t even that.

I'd love nothing more than to see LSU run the table, but based on what I've seen, I don't think that is going to happen.

We lost to a mediocre USC team, got lucky against an average USCe team and beat a really bad UCLA team. Teams can get better of course, but nothing I've seen so far gives me a ton of confidence that we belong in the top 10.
