That can be said for most P5 schools.

A lot of schools have a portion of their fanbase not being alumni. I feel confident NDs numbers are substantially higher.

Champions.

I, like a bulk of the guys that you need to win championships could give a flying frick if they ever set foot in a classroom.

The only rules I would have are:

show up 10 minutes early to everything
don’t get arrested
and don’t abuse women

If they go to class that’s lagniappe.

Everyone can’t leave after 3 years…I want seniors for sure…they should be graduating if they’ve been in college 4 years.

Took me 5.5 years to get my undergrad…but I didn’t have all that help and free time.

You know who does- Moms. How many times have we seen Moms have a HUGE impact on where their son goes to school and why? Education is a factor (usually not the main one) for many of them, and we all know what has not been a strength here lately.

To those who are too stupid to understand, this is just a fricking sales pitch for parents. It’s about letting them know that LSU will make sure anyone who doesn’t turn out to be an NFL Draft prospect and wants to stay and get their degree will be able to. They will leave LSU in position for a good career with lots of opportunities in LA based on the fact that they’re a former LSU player. We all know how that plays.

I can guarantee you that they also push that they will help players who leave early for the draft get their degrees if they want after they leave. A LOT of guys do this and go on to careers after they finish with football. Not everyone stays in the league for a decade and makes a mint.

It amazes me that so many of you can’t see this. It’s pretty transparent messaging.

I’ve always said the same thing: unless you’re standing behind them in the math lab cheering when they get a problem right, miss me with caring about their grades. We spend thousands every year on season tickets, parking, tailgating, and concessions to watch a championship product, and that’s not what we’re getting. Sorry, I’m not gonna pretend to take some kind of moral high ground.

I want football players that are committed and have character and integrity. Success on the field and success in the classroom are not mutually exclusive. If I wanted to root for money-chasing, low-character, hired guns with swagger, I'd be a Colorado fan.

It is really not hard for a LSU athlete to graduate. He is asking them so show the bare minimum of responsibility and some of them cant do it.
agreed, and the vast majority of them major in Sports Management, which is a breeze and almost impossible not to graduate.

I have much more respect for players who major in something real. Those are the true student athletes. But they’re few and far between.

Some are just there, but a lot of those guys are looking to get into coaching when they’re playing days are over. There’s nothing wrong with focusing on that if it’s what you want to do after football.

Champions, don't give a frick if they graduate or not. Especially now that they can leave on a whim and get paid

It doesn’t matter if you, me or any other fan gives a frick. This either-or bullshite is fricking stupid.

Did these players suck?

Josh Williams- Marketing
Jack Mashburn- Finance
They won an SEC West title. Both were instrumental in multiple SEC wins. And they got big boy degrees.

How about Micah Baskerville? Do you miss him this year? I know we all miss Greg Brooks. He got his degree this summer.

How about JaCoby Stevens, Trindon Holiday, Danny Etling, and Grant Delpit? There’s a couple of champions in that list. Remember when I said the school helps guys who want to come back and get their degrees after football is over. All graduated this summer.

There are several more. These were just some notables I pulled who graduated over the last year and a half.

It doesn’t matter what any of us thinks. This is part of the LSU sales pitch and players use it. The proof is right in front of your face if you just look.

The smart ones want both. They want to know their kid will be able to get a degree, even if it’s after football. NIL money isn’t life-long money for an entire family. NFL money only will be for smart players who play for more than a year or two and don’t blow it all.

It’s a sales pitch that they all use but they aren’t recruiting players for anything other than wins. Don’t be naive. Also most moms would be more impressed with how many go pro than how many get a degree…at the top 20 programs
