Do you think the recruiting sites are calibrated to the level where they can actually differentiate between the No. 5 and No. 6 recruiting classes?
I’ve followed recruiting for more than 30 years and I am a believer in the star system, in general. But the recruiting sites have not earned the level of respect to believe they are dialed in to that specificity.
There are generally groupings, and there is little difference between the top 10 recruiting classes. It does start dropping off after that.

Nope. Top 5 recruiting classes are held by schools with the wealthiest donors.

If you go back to our last 4 championship seasons, each team had at least 1 top 5 class.
They also had at least 1 class outside the top 10, and Saban had 2 classes outside the top 20.
Kelly might not be recruiting at the absolute best level that the last 3 coaches did, but he's not off by much.
He also is recruiting much better than the floors or the last 3 coaches.
Better find something else to bitch about, ladies.
