Year 1: A+
Year 2: B- so far but there’s a lot we still don’t know.

Overall he’s exceeded my expectations to this point.

Love his organization and structure of the program. I love that he has a plan and a process to make that plan successful. Hes been a coach for a long time and his plan has always made his team a winner. He took over a program left in bad shape so im holding out hope that we can get the recruiting going and stockpile talent here and depth but the NIL era is what scares me. Some schools will just buy the best players out from under you if that is what they need, they will back the truck up. I just Hope Kelly plays the same game because we have holes that need to be filled on this roster.

Great way to put it. I agree.

Yep I like him and his style. He’s all about winning and no one has done it better than him in the last 25 years.

Overall what's not to like?

Camp and summer conditioning probably needs to be tougher, or include more tackling and ...will imposition drills.

Hearing an ACC team call your starters soft is not good.

first of all, i love his professionalism. it's something LSU hasn't had in 15 years.

as the previous poster said, he seems to have a real plan for the program. also, off the field incidents have been minimal.

recruiting needs to pick up though, even if he has worked the transfer portal well.

He took over a depleted roster of 39 scholarship players and managed to fill it with good enough players to win 10 games and play in the SECCG year 1.

No one with any semblance or realistic expectations should have a problem.

He did do a poor job in the opener but seems to have got the team back to playing well overall. Even Saban has had bad games from time to time.

Great idea. lol...we should write the paper for him!

Everyone take some pieces and let's see how far we can get.

BRIAN KELLY: RESTORING THE PATH OF LSU FOOTBALL DOMINANCE

Webster's Dictionary defines a coach as, "A 2-door enclosed automobile" and "One who instructs players in the fundamentals of a sport and directs team strategy". For our purposes, we will go with the latter. And, as of the completion of this paper, Coach Kelly is currently instructing the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

But never lost back to back season openers when you had seven months to prepare and got embarrassed.

BK has exceeded my expectations of what he could do with our roster so far. I'll give him 4-5 complete seasons to get us an SEC title.

So far so good, but it's really too early to tell. The expectation is to win a national championship at LSU. If he is here for 10 years and isn't able to do that, he'll be seen as a failure. He certainly turned it around pretty quickly. If I had to pick a concern, it would be the uncertainty with recruiting and his track record of losing big games.

Yes, we have a very good coach. Kind of amazing what he’s done in his first 2 years with the roster. He clearly is a coach that knows offense and knows program management. Dude knows what he’s doing.

I’d like to see the HS recruiting step up a notch from Top10 to Top5ish

I’ll wait and see on the defense as it progresses this year, but I think that has to do with the roster more than coaching. We need some upgrades on defense. LSU should never be outside the Top50 in defense IMO

likes: i think he’s smarter than our last 2 coaches. I think he has a good vision and solid x’s and o’s.

dislikes: I think his staff is a little too scheme oriented and he doesn’t have any super elite recruiters outside Wilson. He hired Freeman at ND, a young smart DC with great recruiting. I am kinda hopeing for someone like that when House leaves.
