That's funny...this entire post is asking people who don't personally know Nuss what their opinion of him is. Then, when somebody gives their opinion, your first response is " do you know him?"

The NFL decided his value was end of the 7th. Purdy is the only one drafted that late in the last decade that is now the actual starter. Purdy isn’t Lamar back there, but he’s decently mobile.

The NFL's evaluation of talent as it relates to the Draft is (at the most optimistic take..) a mixed bag... Tom Brady was a 6th round pick ( 199th ) and there have been many top 10 picks that washed out in fairly short order...

time and Nuss will determine what his NFL career will be but using the draft as the marker for value is a poor measuring stick...

I think Nuss is s good guy. But as a freshman you tell him something ten times to correct a flaw and he still does it. I can’t explain why.

TigerDroppings usual suspects playing the edgy card and manufacturing reasons to dislike a college kid.

25 of the NFL starters last season QBs were 1st round picks, 28 if you include 2nd rounders.

Seems like the draft is doing just fine as a marker for QBs.

I dont think so. I think he saw through BK's bullshite and him getting all the blame for being injured and lack of preparation.

There’s general “attitude” vs not accepting criticism well. Someone can be “team-first while still not handling criticism very well. And I think that’s more of Nuss’ issue, arse opposed just walking around being a prick to everyone.

You couldn’t have posted this thought in the other “bad attitude” thread?

Perhaps we need to start a thread for your attitude.

Looks like to me he received very poor coaching and developed bad habits.

He’s not “small”…he’s big enough to play in the NFL (6’1-6’2 is not small).

His largest deficit, and it impacts all components of his game, is his lack of athleticism.

His weight (203) is in the 5th percentile amongst QBs. He’s objectively small.

There were too many times even in 2024 when he should have kept the ball and ran as I thought he was at least as fast as Burrow. I don’t think he likes to run it, makes him look weak. 2025 he was so obviously injured that everyone knew he would rarely take run on the option, yet they kept doing it.

I think poor decision making may be his greatest weakness. Some of those decisions may have been made trying to protect himself from additional injury, but he looked panicky. O-line performance didn’t help . Also wondering if his dad’s position is a negative.

The only thing Nuss and Brady have in common is they both are QBs. Brady is an outlier, not even close to the norm. As another poster stated where where the rest of the regular starting QBs drafted?

I'm just not sure what everyone sees with Nuss. It's like they just see "third most passing yards in a season in LSU history" but don't dig any deeper than that.

I’m kind of torn on the ‘24 stats. On one hand, you’re right - the numbers were absolutely padded by volume because we just didn’t run the ball at all. On the other hand, it seems like being completely one-dimensional on offense would make it harder to be successful. Despite how much we threw the ball, Nussmeier was still in the top half of the SEC for completion %. And the offense as a whole was still in the top half of the SEC both in terms of total and scoring offense.

When I look back, I can see why it felt like he would take a big step as a senior. Especially after seeing the strides our last two returning senior QB’s made.

However, Nuss obviously isn’t Burrow or Daniels. Burrow had a psychotic work ethic, incredible mental ability, and was a much better athlete than Nuss. Daniels also had a ridiculous work ethic and was one of the most gifted athletes to ever play the position. Those attributes didn’t just materialize because they came back for their final years; it’s just that we got to see them at their best.

I don’t think we got to see Nuss at his best - we still couldn’t figure out the running game and the injury set him back - but I think we’ve seen enough. His deep ball accuracy has always been shaky, he has always made questionable decisions, and he doesn’t have the natural athletic ability (or instinct) to make up for it elsewhere.

So you meant so say that he is “light”…speak with a little more precision because “small” entails a combination of attributes, not just weight…and he can put on weight fairly easily with his frame…which is not objectively “small”.

But again, that’s not really the issue with Garrett
