Do I dare say that JD is as good a passer as JB?

Easy to understand either side of the debate of who is the better QB. But who is the better passer?

We as LSU fans hold Joe Burrow as the GOAT of slinging it, but we as LSU fans also have seen (more than anybody) JDs arm talent. And the dimes he threw on Monday.

I would never have said JD until the back third of 2023….but?

Daniels passing game is underrated. He has elite accuracy and throws very few interceptions.

Amazing how he was told to not be afraid to throw it after Auburn 2022, where had 86 yards passing

Burrow had an awful pick 6 in 2018 in the 4th quarter of the Florida game. It is truly amazing how similar each of their leap was from year 1 to year 2 at LSU. Daniels especially as everyone assumed he had peaked by 2022.

JD5 has improved drastically as a passer since he arrived on campus in 2022. He has been consistently making accurate throws that has made him very dangerous to defend with his athletic ability.

However, JB has much higher level of anticipation. The accuracy between the two of them is probably closer than some think but what Burrow is clearly ahead of JD5 on right now is anticipation. Jayden is going to get better as he continues to see NFL defenses hes still only played 3 NFL games.

Garrett has looked better than both if just you just compare their first season as a starting qb. We just don't have a team around him currently.

Gotta give BK and Sloan credit for developing his throwing

Man he's come a long way in the eyes of LSU fans since early last year.

And even then it took half the year to win many of them over...and I can tell you for a fact some still or not.

But regardless of fleeting opinions, the young man had made himself into a fine QB and even the mention of him in the same sentence as JB shows have far he's come. And IMHO your opinion has merit and is very arguable.

To me Burrow is just built different than Nuss or JD5 when it comes to passing. There are certain throws I can remember from the 2019 season that were just unreal in terms of ball placement and anticipation. In particular, the second TD to Jefferson in the Texas game and the one in the Oklahoma game where he rolled out to the right and hit Jefferson perfectly with a back shoulder throw. The latter is one of the best throws I've ever seen a college QB make.

It’s not really a fair comparison. JD is such a huge running threat, he doesn’t throw against the same defense that Burrow does. Yes, I know Burrow is mobile and can get some yards on his feet, but he’s not going to take one to the house like JD can.

With all that said, Jayden is a damn good passer, and can drop the ball into a bucket. He’s finally getting the respect for it.

Why not? He’s in the NFL as a starting qb as a rookie. He set records and won a Heisman. Only diff between him and JB is the natty, but that’s the defense’s fault.

Those VR goggles made a world of difference for him.

Garrett has unreal anticipation and prob has a bigger arm than both. He’s been flat out impressive his first season as starter and like you said we don’t have Nabers /jefferson/chase game breaker wr either

At LSU, in my opinion, Burrow had a greater ability to hit receivers in stride (especially over the middle) which allowed them to get more yards after catch. His timing/accuracy was unreal in 2019.

Too small of sample size. Let's give it a season or two and re-evaluate after there are enough stats to back an argument.

JD is phsically superior...he just doesn't have the anticipation and recognition yet. He's getting better at it. He'll be elite within a few seasons.

Garrett definitely has the best arm by a lot, but he does zero with his feet. Both of those guys, but especially Daniels, did a lot of damage running.
