Screw that. Let's dig up John Wooden's gravesite. A dead John Wooden could probably get more than 2 wins.

Wade was ready to be a head coach at a major program, again. Those were the major programs with an opening at the time Wade was wanting to make the move.

I don’t think we know if Wade had offers from any of the schools other than NC State.

But there are better jobs that NC St on that list

Only Indiana (8) has more final four appearances than NC State (4) on that list.

There is no way on earth Steve’s leaves president of Celtics for LSu. Although I agree with your thought.

While literally anyone would be better than what we have now, Stevens hasn't coached college in a long time and the game has totally changed so not sure if he would be the one I would go after.

Word is, at the young age of 80, Phil Jackson wants to make a run in college hoops. LSU has been in contact with him.

if he wanted to be coaching in college, he would be. This sure as hell isn't the job that will lure him back though

NC State has 4 Final Four appearances in 4 different decades, with the most recent being 2024, lol.

Outside of Indiana and Maryland none of the other jobs that were open had 2 more recent Final Four appearances than NC State.

Jobs that were needing new coach and Final Four appearances:

Florida State - 1 (1972)

Indiana - 8 (2002, 1992, 1987, 1981, 1976, 1973, 1953, 1940)

Iowa - 3 (1980, 1956, 1955)

Maryland - 2 (2002, 2001)

Miami - 1 (2023)

Minnesota - 1 (1997 - vacated)

NC State - 4 (2024, 1983, 1974, 1950)

Texas - 3 (2003, 1947, 1943)

Texas A&M - 0

Virginia - 3 (2019, 1947, 1943)

West Virginia - 2 (2010, 1959)

Xavier - 0

Yeah, that 2024 FF prevented them from firing their coach until the next season. It was a miraculous run in the ACCT and NCAAT.

We used to joke about getting Bill Belichick as coach and now he’s a shitty college coach at a middle of the pack college. Just a bit ironic

I bet if you write a check big enough Verge will listen. In the meantime, if you are just suggesting how LSU should spend other people’s money, you probably won’t hear back from Verge.
